Iron-Daemon Forge
Thanks The photos where taken last week when a few GW stores ran a trip down to Warhammer World Nottingham to allow people to check it out if they never been & also run a small double tournament. It was a really good day, fought against 6 brillaint oppent & three great games. Me & my team mate ended up with best object marker, best army & overall winner. My team mate Space Marine force was brutal, last round he first turn assaulted & slaughter 2x unit of Grey Knight Terminators, any left alive flee off the table while he'd only loss a Space Marine in return. He also shown why Scout with Shotguns are brutal as well. While my 750pts force is what you can see on What new today ;) With the shirt - That my friend Chris he had our wargaming club shirt - Stirling wargamer, which is yellow & has the red loin. As for the sun, better we don't see that I hate the heat & sunny weather, get headace, preffer the cold, winter time ;) IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250976-insane-psychopaths-wolves-of-gw-blog/#findComment-3042333 Share on other sites
Russ Brother 92
IP those models are pure gorgeous :P and honestly the yellow glow (I first thought it painted on haha) and it only adds brilliance :P I especially love your Legion of the Damned models as they're all mini dioramas (if they're not LoTD I'm sorry haha) - just read the full post rather than just looking at shiney pictures and realised that they're all dioramas because they be objective markers and they are brilliant :P If you hadn't noticed by now... I love your models and the artwork/skill put into each model - jw. are those shoulder pads the FW ones? I love your models and the artwork/skill put into each model - jw. are those shoulder pads the FW ones? Thanks Yes the Legion of the Damned are object marker. As said in the post just like the art work GW had up a few year ago of a Blood Angel being save by two Legion trooper. Also just game term me & my oppent know there object marker, as it easy to get confuse in the heat of the game & say if the Marker where Space Wolves, could easy be pick up by mistake thinking there part of the unit/wounds, it the last thing I'd want to do is move object marker more so in a tournament. The pads - All from the Space Wolves pack, preffer going with moulded shoulder pads when it come to collecting Marines to show there chapter. Only tacticla or Wolf case pack marking I'll paint as normal. Marshal Wilhelm
These look really sweet, IP :D I still struggle to believe that yellow glow was from the dude's shirt :D Have you gone for fancy shoulders on all your Wolves, or was that just a coincidence that the ones shown all have sculpted shoulder pads? I like your grey very much. Simple too - which is how I like my painting to be :) Did you undercoat black? Iron-Daemon Forge
Have you gone for fancy shoulders on all your Wolves, or was that just a coincidence that the ones shown all have sculpted shoulder pads? Yep my whole tournament force (Rune Priest, 2x Dreadnought, 4x Grey Hunter units w/3x Razorbacks & 1x Rhino, 2x Speeder & for 1750pts 2x Long Fang units (long fangs use the 3rd ed shoulder pads with the skull)). Same with my Wolf Wing force, purely the shoulder pads with the molded wolf head. My pure Wolf force - Thunder Wolves & Fenris Wolves will also be going along the same line. But that project still a bit of time away from starting. I still struggle to believe that yellow glow was from the dude's shirt It is our wargaming club shirt, because being in Stirling & with the background with Robert the Bruce (two year time 2014 will mark 700 years since The Battle of Bannockburn) & the Lion Rampant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lionrampant.svg Did you undercoat black? Black the only undercaot I use. Last time I use White was for the Ghost ship in dreadfleet, before that it was back in 2008 when I was a GW staff memeber which led to me painting 40 zombies in 30 mins. Was a double event, ended up best object marker, best army & overall winner with my team mate. We only team up two week before the event as both our orignaly team mate drop out due to real life stuff. That was when the What new today took the photos of my own Space Wolves after talking to Dan during the day & the photos where taken just that the start of round 3 You can also see my current Iron Warriors force which is aim for this year tournament event by here http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...=242006&hl= http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...=242456&hl= ToS April tournament report http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...=251625&hl= The Iron Warriors, this is my Mk6 army marking ten years of collecting Iron Warriors a force that has serive me well & also mark ten year of attend tournaments as it was Conflict Scotland 2002 which saw me eneter the tournament scene with the Iron Warriors. Iron Warriors & Space Wolves along with Templars being my main armies. IW I know inside & out on the gaming front as well. On the Space Wolf front, I am replace a few models in my Wolf Wing force & aim to add Thunder Wolves, I was going to do a pure Wolf force (Fenris & Thunder) but I think I will wait until 6th ed come out before I plan that force & to see how the GW paint are in term replace the colour I use in the now older set. So far the once I have use on other armies/models has been great. My Wolf Wing army can be seen by here http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...=217834&hl= So just need to hunt out some bits that have current seem to have went missing. Just as said to replace some models due to new idea & with the release of the Thunder Wolves has offer even more bits to convert with & because a friend give me some of the Space Hulk Terminators last year which I plan to use in the conversion, like the once you can see in the project log. Need to try arrange another big game vs my friend David in the near future as well when time permit for both of us, depend 6th ed as said might see pure Wolf force. Khine
I have to say, it's nice to see somebody else using those dozer blades on their rhinos :) How did you manage to get them to go out so far but still stay so level? Also, loving your thin but powerful highlights and subtle dirtying. I'm sure the fact that your club shirt draws every ones attention ( including the judges ) never once factored into it's design, right? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250976-insane-psychopaths-wolves-of-gw-blog/#findComment-3057592 Share on other sites
