adamv6
I have a terrible penchant at the moment for dreadnoughts. I keep buying cheap, unpainted ones of eBay and now have a reasonable squad of them. (3, plus my purchased VenDread  ) The dread in the picture had a lascannon and missile launcher glued on, so I removed them and created new weapon arm studs. I keep making them a bit more Greyknight'ish with seals and terminator parts, and they are starting to look pretty decent. (See pic below) http://i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh493/GreyknightV6/2012-04-18203027.jpg For 130 points I can get a Dread with Assault Cannon and Psybolts. So 6 24" shots, 4 at ST7(rending), 2 at ST2. All wrapped up in AV12 fortitudal, LD10 goodness. I am thinking about running 2 or even 3 in a 1500point 'fun' list. Has anybody else played with this idea or have any points to make? king tiger 101
Although not grey knight I would love to do similar with space wolves, bjorn and 3 venerables running around squishing stuff sounds uber fun to me, so why not just do it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251003-multiple-dreadnought-lists/#findComment-3042581 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
My Necrons got utterly crushed by a Blood Angel list using 2 dreadnoughts and 4 venerable dreadnoughts at 1500 points a couple of weeks ago. Yes, it was a very bad army match-up (I was running sword and board lychgaurd!), but the army was very scary. Murcielago
If you want dreadnought lists, run the Blood Angels. Buy 10 death company and keep them cheap, then take 2 death company dreads for troop choices, and then stock up on WHATEVER other dreads you want. For more sh!ts and giggles, put everything in drop pods (make sure to take an odd number of them so you get more of them coming down in your first turn). The look on an opponents face when he has 4-5 drop pods down in his face on turn 1, PLUS all of the dreadnoughts glaring at him, is incredibly priceless. ;) While not as competitive, it sure is fun to play :D Also Furyou, how did he have 4 venerable when you can only have 3 elites..? *Furyou Miko
Master of the Forge for his HQ. Unlocks them as HS. Any higher on the points and he'd have had six venerables. ^^; I learned the hard way that Dispersion Shields don't work against autocannons. Murcielago
Blood Angels don't get a master of the forge... Either this guy hustled you...Or he played with regular marines Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251003-multiple-dreadnought-lists/#findComment-3042798 Share on other sites
adamv6
I like the idea of using the dreadnoughts to footslog with my troops. They become bullet magnets, and if strategically played can offer reinforced aegis to the whole army. I suspect that would be a blessing against Eldar  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251003-multiple-dreadnought-lists/#findComment-3042869 Share on other sites
