Greetings

So i am currently painting up http://hitechminiatures.com/_shop/userFile...zers_BOX_2_.jpg these guys.

And since they are for my Emperor's Children i decided to paint the cloak pink and probably leave it at that.

Thanks to the input i now tried the recipe

This is the result, and frankly i am quite pleased with the cloak, and the model as a whole.

Just want to spike up the gold parts a little, but other then that it was really a nice mini to paint!

Pink is light red, so shade with red. I paint my loyalist space marines by giving them an overall coat of Tamiya X17 Pink (your basic medium pink), then one of GW's old red ink, followed by drybrushing with more Tamiya pink and then GW Tentacle Pink (a lighter, colder pink than the Tamiya one).

I think Gurth has the right Idea. Start with a pale Pink base. Glaze the surface with a Red wash. (Might need to thin the wash depending on how subtle you want the effect to be) Go back and boost the highlights with the original Pink. Enhance the highlights with a Pink + White mix.

A Brown wash might also work, but the effect is going to be a bit dirtier. I would actually start with a Red wash, then once that's dry, follow with a Brown wash in all of the really dark shaded areas for added depth. Then follow up with the highlighting.

That said, why Pink? It's personal opinion, but I never got into the idea of writhing pink skin for mutations/Obliterators. In the Warp, anything goes. Think outside the box.
