Flesh Tearer Contemptor

Fracture

Recommended Posts

Finished him last night. I'm in love with this kit and thinking about working on a 2nd one at some point. Used the new Khorne red for the base and was very impressed.

As always, let me know what you think as it keeps my painting drive going.

Awesome i love it. Neat paint job, colours are spot on, decent pose and a nice base.. Seth would be proud. If he was mine, id probably add some kind of decal on his right knee, just to add some detail to one of those large blank armour plates.

Cheers!

Well done!

When I first read the title I was hoping to see some sort of giant rotary buzz saw-type weapon in place of the DCCW... so get on that for your next one! Do two of them, count as blood claws. It's okay if it's only a regular Dread and not a Contemptor, I will not hold it against you.

I know what you mean EPK. I've already done this for my DC dread.

But for Contemptor blood talons I want to make dread sized ones of these which I made for an assault sgt. Not figured out how to do it yet though.

Thanks for the comments guys. Glad he's gone down well.

@Reinhard. The base is codex grey, thin wash of scorched brown then a dry brush of fortress grey. For the statue bits on the contemptor I started with a base of adeptus battlegrey and ork hide shade and added bleached bone to high light.

Black areas are done with a base of boltgun with scorched brown simply followed with boltgun leaving a bit of the base colour showing. I might then hive some of the deeper dents/holes a brown/black wash.

@Ihg033 For the red I started out with Khorne red, found this has great coverage over black. I then washed it down with Ogryn Flesh and Baal red together. Reapply the Khorne red and add blood red to highlight up. Finish with another wash of ogryn flesh and baal red to tie it all together.

Hope this helps.
