Kol Saresk
Okay, here is my very simple question: I have a ten man squad straight out of the box. Only one I got. I am giving it the meltagun. It will be assault based. I am torn between the IoK and the IoS. Should I go for the +1 Attack or the +1 Initiative? Kierdale
Well, since you said the squad will be fluffy, do you want them to be Khorne or Slaanesh-alligned, or haven't you decided? How will it fit in with the rest of your army? Is it predominantly Khorne or Slaanesh? What foes do you usually face? I know this isn't fluffy but if I4 usually gets you hitting first then I'd go for the +1 Attack. I know I want it assualt oriented so I would like either Khorne or Slaanesh. This ten-man squad is all I got. It's my first dip into the hobby. The only reason I didn't get anything more is this thing called money and my relative lack of it. Warsmith Aznable
Magnetize the hands of the special weapons guys, and then make interchangeable banners. The hand magnets are straightforward, and there is an icon tutorial floating around here somewhere that is fairly straightforward and effective as well. Essentially the icons are mounted on tubes that can slip over the haft so any particular squad can be whatever you fancy for any given list. Let me put it this way, one living next to a Mcds has its advantage for wifi. Two, It's a pain to afford $25 of gas a week. And that is my spending money for the foreseeable future. In hidnsight, I probably shouldn't have gotten the minis I have, but that was before I encountered a little speed bump. Brother Ambroz
To me its simple really. They're assault based so do you want them to have abnormally fast reflexes or attack wildly? That's how I'd look at it. Alternatively you could use them as berserkers, you'd just need to remove the melta. The guys I'm working on now are my first claw, they'll be close combat specialists aka zerks. Just one more reason I hope they don't do restrictions in the new codex. Kraull the Rampager
I'd say Khorne mate, generally your squads are only good in combat with Power fists, and as handy as initiative is...well, sonic marines aren't THAT effective without their sonic blasters. I'm running a Night Lords warband currently with just basic squads. My powerfists do REALLY well....My power weapons do horribly. Always. Hit 1/4 of the time against marines. I know that a power fist could always use more attacks though:D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251133-fluff-based-squad-modelling/#findComment-3044967 Share on other sites
