Octoape Posted April 21, 2012 Author Share Posted April 21, 2012 Okay now that I've front loaded some pics, these are my khorne wolves/ skyrar's dark wolves/ Dornian heresy space wolves. Just planning on doing a killZone squad, a combat patrol list, and maybe up to a 1k list. So far it's been fun but trying, any critiques or ideas would be great. In my head I've got grey with brass trim and red shoulder pads or kneed pads or arms just not sure, thoughts? Skyrar's is not a mean enough scheme in my opinion so that's out and no just plain space wolves. Ooooh, and fur on the beastly totally lost there. Montuhotep Posted April 21, 2012 Share Posted April 21, 2012 How about dark grey for the majority of the armour? That way you can run them as Great Crusade/Horus Heresy-era Wolves if you wish? I think the scheme that you've posted up would look good - it worked on GW's own 13th Company minis so it should work here. 1 Question: I can see that some of the heads and weapons come from Marauder cavalry but where do the two-handed ones in the 5th photo down come from? Octoape Posted April 21, 2012 Author Share Posted April 21, 2012 And I also totaly agree with the dark grey but I am going to chaos it up with the bronze and red I guess much like the 13th company, however where I am at a loss I guess is more along the lines as to how to handle the cav's skin and fur because it's various accoutrements will be the same color as the marines armor scheme etc. Indeed that head makes anything you use it for scream he-man but I think it suits in this case Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Octoape Posted April 25, 2012 Author Share Posted April 25, 2012 I respectfully disagree sir, they look mean and compared to the marines just lean enough to equal a scout like quality. However it totaly may be my inadequate phone photo perspectives, they're the marauder legs and are comparible in size to the space marine legs just a bit more splayed out for a lower and wider stance. However you are the first person with either criticism or suggestions, so thank you. Again I totally don't mean to be argumentative. Also just got a clean press mold of some fur pelts and painstakingly drilled out a ton of skulls and cut out a ton of little tiny runes and wolf claws so now to add a bunch of detail and belts etc. and make the shoulder pads more forge world esque with nice hangy bits and ornamentation.
