New fallen wolves in progress

I really like the kitbashing you are doing. Its a good mix of SW, WFB marauders and beastmen? it looks like. They are suitably feral and chaosy even with the different additions to them they look like SM to me. Your chaos wolf looks awesome. love the armor additions. I have long thought about doing scouts with a lot of the marauder stuff and I have to say I think it looks great. For color scheme I think a grey body with red shoulders with bronze trim looks a lot like SW so if you are thinking of going with more of a fallen wolves look then you should be good. If you are thinking more of just a feral renegades then maybe use some other colors?

And yeah I am totally sticking to the fallen wolves ( if only for the aggression/ annoyance it will cause all the purest's) so yeah the grey's with bronze trim and red detailing is going to be the way of it. However I am at a loss on the fur color of the demon thunder wolves, any thoughts?

And thank you for the complements good sir.

Almost done the first thunder wolf and rider just experimenting with how to add the ever present chaos trim to the armor that I have sculpted. Any suggestions?

Natural fur colors like brown - tan would look good with the grey. If you are thinking a more demon-ish look then maybe try a much crazier color. Off the top of my head a light blue or purple would stand out, green would look too much like a nurgle follower. Maybe you could do a dark brownish-red color for the fur that would blend into tan? That would highlight some khorne-ish in the army?

Some progress on the 1st demonic thunder wolf still needs trim on the armor and something for the back hips area, as well as some additional work on the rider.

Anyway, it's nowhere near done but I felt maybe someone would be interested or have some helpful ideas on the matter.

So ran out of greenstuff and it may be a bit until I can get more so less progress than I had intended but enough to put up and see what everyone thinks.

Almost done with demon riding space pimp Viking aka demonic thunderwolf 1. I have to add some rivets and some details, plus add a bit more volume to the fur collar. Then priming and painting because I have everything I need for 2 teams of 250 pt special operations kill zone, and minus vehicles and a melta what I need for a 400 and 500 pt combat patrol.

Yay

The trim In no way came out the way I wanted it to, but with some rivets and such and the details added to the draping in the 1 shoulder pad it should look pretty good.

Thanks all, ego boosting and criticism is greatly appreciated.

Thanks all

Just hope I don't ruin it with my detail work and then painting.

Thanks sir, I can't lie I partially did this to anger my former space wolves brethren of whom 3 play locally and all of which are crazy focused on the righteous incorruptible nature of the wolves.

I think Vikings in space embody chaos in a way, and as I've always thought and my 3 year old now agrees the bad guys are much much cooler.

I think the GS armor looks good. I think the front shoulder plates look very plain compared to the rest of the armor but maybe some rivets will liven it up. Continuing to love the kitbashing. You have an eye for mixing them up without going over the top. Looks great, cant wait to see some paint on these guys!

this is awesome. How are going to paint all the detail you have on them. I barely have anytime to put paint on one mini with some extra bitz. But you bro are a madman for that much extra stuff you will have to paint up. good luck, I intend to watch this with interest.

Gaaaaaah exeeded my bandwidth in photobucket

Sorry all but until the 9th I am stuck unless anyone has a better idea???

And yeah I like to do what I call Rambo up all my minis all the time. And yes the large armor plates are my only real concern I thought they were necessary but now thry're just crazy simple. Hopefully some scratches and rivets help out.

Yeah buddy, they may have fallen but they haven't forgotten how to party. If you look closely ( if you still can due to photo bucket) each of my wolf guard has a stein/mug/flaggon on their belt. It's all about the skulls and the revelry. Plus it helped disguise the whole saddle situation.

Also I've dropped a few things from the t wolves because some locals suggested no one would really notice such as originally the back legs were going to be converted to hooves, so I saw the point that no one would notice and or care, but do you think belts and straps modeled on to show how the armor is held on the legs would be excessive as well?

Also thinking about making a bionic front leg for 1 of my dudes any thoughts on that?

And to be frank I don't know how I'll manage it because I have never managed to have a fully built army let alone a fully painted one hence why my goal for the summer is fully built, converted and painted 500 pt combat patrol. But I am giving myself all summer so hopefully it won't be too bad. And my painting is what has me the most worried here but I'm hoping some clean crisp color will work wonders.

I intend on painting them grey and red with bronze trim, plus a varitable smorgasborg of other colors because Of all of the accessories. The demon thunder wolves will be reddish brown, but 1 will be all white because I think it'll be awesome.

Painting will commence as soon as I get some green stuff and build 1 melta guy and finish off the details on the t wolf.

( also build a 2nd t wolf just in case I want 2 in killZone )

Thanks all

I think, if you can stomach it, belts and straps on the armour plates would be an excellent touch of realism - everyone seems to assume that the plates just fit on something and stay on as if by magnetism which is just a sloppy cop-out. Look at how much tack needs to be used to keep a saddle on a horse!

Okay through a little advice from some more experienced players, I decided to build a hvy bolter long fang, and a few scout snipers for my killZone crews.

Here's the 1st of the scout snipers

Wow! Excellent work on all of this, but the demon-wolves are super-impressive! As far as colors for them, I think red skin and purplish fur (all washed down with some brown) would highlight their demonic nature and still be coherent with the force. Have you thought of adding runes to any of the armor plates? They could offer some really interesting painting opportunities.

Keep up the great work!
