Troublemaking Pit Fight

I know that posts dealing with who is the best of the legion are a bit of a toss up but from Savage Weapons short story there was a bit of a role call and further inferences 'could' be made. No spoilers but in First Heretic there is a brief interaction between Argel Tal and Sevatar. As the meeting is far from cordial I am curious what the odds would be against either of them in a battle royale (obviously love to hear from ADB). Some additional thoughts: Lucius and Corswain, Khârn and Sigismund, and for the super shenannigan Malcharion v. Sor Talgron as the dreadnought destined.

I don't know and to be honest I don't care who will win.

I'm curious as to what you hope to gain from a thread like this? What do you learn from this that can broaden your horizon on the lore?

I find threads like this useless and a waste of time, because there are a lot of more interesting questions to be asked. For example one might ask: how did the Dark Angels disengage from the Thramas Crusade following the duel at Tsagualsa? And looking at the Lion's discussion with Curze, and the Lion's final comment in that short story, what were the Dark Angels real motives?

Don't get this as me raging on you. I simply find versus threads a vaste of time, that could be used to discuss interesting and open questions instead.

Noone is stopping you from making a "how did the Dark Angels disengage from the Thramas Crusade following the duel at Tsagualsa?" thread. It's not like there can only be one thread running at a time, if you don't like a thread, don't comment on it, simples :)

Not sure Argel Tal vs Sevatar would happen, as it would end in at least one of the traitor legions losing one of their main Captains, and I think Argel Tal is destined to be killed by Sanguinius, but we dont yet know how Sevatar dies. Khârn and Sigismund would be a good fight, I think Sigismund would win though.

I don't belive you get me here. I comment to point out how pointless a versus thread is, in order to enlighten people on why I think it's a bad idea to start such a discussion. All it breeds is an unintelligent and pointless discussion, that at some point comes down to personel taste.

Look at it this way: It's like arguing who is going to win during a chess Championship match. No one can know because both are strong in their own way and playing style. You can run a lot of analysis on their past games, but in the end it comes down to who is able to think the best and clearest in the moment. But that moment relies on a myriad of factors like: was the coffe perfect this morning, did they sleep well, do they feel more cinfident today than yesterday, was breakfast satisfying and so on. I have played a lot of chess, and I know this. Sometime a great player lose to a lesser one simply because the coffe that day was a bit bad, so it started a butterfly effect that ended in non-optimal conditions for playing at your best.

So is it if Astarte X was going against Astarte Y. No one knows the conditions the battle is taking place under. Perhaps the lesser beat the greater or the other way around. It's all pointless guessing, that in the end can be traced back to personal taste.

Your guess is a good as mine, but none of us broaden our horizon or learn anything, so it's a waste of time.

Actually while I recognize and accept the point you are making tyr and the initial proposed match up is both entirely unlikely and relatively pointless I felt that it might be entertaining to muse upon. With that said the second portion was attempting to look at matchups of champions who would arguably not only match each other stylistically but be inclined to make a go of it. eg. Corswain the duellist and lucius the...duellist. Anyway
