Enzephalon
Hi guys, I finally painted my landspeeder. As you may or may not know it's derived from a landspeeder storm. I used the crew to create some variation in my scout squads, leaving me with the remaining speeder. So I bought some plastic card and covered the hatches. I can run it as a typhoon or with 1-2 multimeltas. All the options are magnetized, allthough the second multimelta option (including a marine) isn't painted yet. I consider the speeder/scout squad as my best kitbash/conversion to this point (not including single models like HQ). It's fairly well executed me thinks, considering the fact that it was my first use of plastic card. I hope you enjoy it! Jolemai
It needs some windscreen wipers ;) Joking aside it's great to see it painted and I quite enjoy seeing your interpretation of all things BA with your conversions :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251260-my-interpretation-of-a-landspeeder/#findComment-3045888 Share on other sites

Thank you for your comment though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251260-my-interpretation-of-a-landspeeder/#findComment-3045891 Share on other sites
Icehornet
:P That is so cool! I'm not too keen on the windscreens though - The painting to achive the effect is great, nothing wrong there, but somethinng about the positioning and/or even the size of the windows feels.... off I guess. Meh, never mind me, the model is pretty sweet. Well done mate. daryl
I like it, especially the typhoon missle launcher. Looks more of an assault/gunship version. Kind of like an old viet' nam era huey gunship type speeder. Icehornet
My daughter thought it was Finley the Fire Engine :P ABC 4 Kids In Friendlyville, you’ll meet Finley the Fire Engine and his playful friends. Join the gang in their fun adventures as they get their jobs done, solve problems and help others. Sorry mate, but I did have a good chuckle at that. Eorek
Looks great... Would have liked something "more" on the windows though... they feel sorta 2d if you get my point... otherwise: well done Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251260-my-interpretation-of-a-landspeeder/#findComment-3046236 Share on other sites
Kierdale
Love it! I remember the WIP shots. The windows are painted on that front surface, right? I might suggest adding a raised ridge/rim around the edge of the windows. It would make them look less painted-on. At the moment the transition from armour plating to glass seems a bit too seamless. Did you finish the scouts from it too?:( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251260-my-interpretation-of-a-landspeeder/#findComment-3046290 Share on other sites
Enzephalon
Thanks for the comments and the constructive critique. It will be no problem to add a proper trim around the window. The scouts are finished too. At least the first squad. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...;hl=storm+scout http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/3/27/346858_md-.JPG And here's a little special for Icehornets daughter: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/4/24/357693_md-.JPG I think I may keep the nickname. Finley the "let's rain fire upon your enemies" engine. ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251260-my-interpretation-of-a-landspeeder/#findComment-3046374 Share on other sites
daryl
Love the scouts, makes me want to get the LS storm now just to get some. I always hated the no helmet look of generic scouts. I mean seriously what kind of Marine would forget to wear a helmet going into combat. But those defininetly look ready for some CQB action. Concerning the scouts from the landspeeder storm. I would recommend against using them alone. At least buy another box to mix the parts. The poses of the crew are kind of awkward outside the speeder. It took a lot of work to achieve some believable poses. It's also worth it because of the weapon options. On a side note. The helmets are from Pig Iron studios. Just to let you know. AGPO
Good to see someone else using the Pig Iron helmets. I'm just painting up a couple of squads with them now. daryl
Well looks like I am ordering some heads from Pig Iron. They got a nice selection so thanks for the word, will definitely be hitting them up periodically, I might actually like scouts again.
