poisoned attacks

Just a quickie that keeps popping up when i play my nids.

Toxin sacs gives you poison 4+

my broodlord charges (strength 6 on the charge due to adrenal glands (furious))

what does he wound a standard marine on?

1) a 2+, rerolling 1's due to the poison rerolling special rule

2) a 4+, rerolling all failed wounds due to poison (but in effect negating the fact he's strength 6)

Option 2, poisoned 4+ means you always wound on a 4+, regardless of strength or toughness. If your strength is equal to or higher than their toughness you get re-rolls though. Page 42 in the BRB is quite clear about the matter.

Also remember that you have a 75% chance to wound at all times with the Poison attack (with rerolls) and without you have a 83.3% chance to wound only on the charge.

It's also worth to mention that in the case with poisoned attacks you must use the re- rolls if you get them. It's not an option as with most other re- rolls.
