Mercenary marines

Hi there,

This is not an IA article, noe even close. Just want share some ideas I have in my mind, because I need some feedback to decide if "to be, or not to be". I have the idea of mercenary marines very bound in my mind, for a loong time, and recently, viewing some old artwork of the Rogue Trader, that spark have come back into life.

The main idea is a crippled chapter, low in numbers and in heavy support who had gone rogue, but not traitor chaos-ly speaken -in the line of "guilted of a crime they never commited...", you know, Chapter Master Hannibal Smith. Just them had taken in account that the Imperium had betrayed The Emperor (the ideals of them, the word of the Big E about he does not want to be worshipped as a god, the slave-state of mankind, as oposed as the vision the Emperor had, the betrayal of Guilliman to take contron of the Imperium after the fall of the Emperor and so forth). So they still loyal to the Big E, but not to the Imperium -here my thought was some sort of conflict with the =I=, maybe involving the killing of one inquisitor.

As per warfare they're low on heavy supplies like Land Raiders, Predators, and tanks in general, with maybe just one or two dreads at the most. A couple of TDA squads for the whole chapter, for a total of 300 battle-brother, scouts not included. They have not libbys nor chaplains and will be a chapter fleet-based, with a single ship.

I've writed a sample light strike force here about 1500 points.

Colour wise, the PA will be camo green... And then, Raptors came to my mind.

I've readed all the info I can find here on B&C, and also re-read the IA9. They fit so likely. Alas, they have no succesor chapters recently (and I want mine to be a fairly new chapter). But then, in the IA9, about the Sulsalid Campaign, there is a rebellion about "progress" and "democracy" in 775.M41 and I was wondering if is there any possibility about that a strike force, one of the involved, had gone rogue, in the same campaign or, being marked by an existencial crisis/faith crisis, some time after because the saind =I= incident.

So, is all that so aberrant or can otherwise be feasible? I like the background of Raptors, their tactical approach, warfare style and colour scheme, but I'm not able to do 2 more marine armies and still growing my zerker one.

So, what do you think guys? Is feasible or should I stick with Raptors? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I realized that I've posted on the wrong forum, sorry. Please move the post in the proper section.
