Chapter Master Kanithon Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 Okay, I don't actually have any finished models to show but I can show were I'm at with my Executioners; I've stripped all the models I want to use and have coated them in VMA Artic Blue, I actually really like the colour but found it a pain to highlight and dirty up so I ordered some pigments from Secret Weapon Miniatures so I'm just wanting on them at the moment. But I sadly don't think I can; I'm going to a music festival on Monday, and then back to Norway, leaving all my modelling paraphernalia back in the 'Dam. Toxichobbit Posted June 28, 2012 Share Posted June 28, 2012 I'm still really struggling to come up with an interesting theme for the Sons of Medusa, beyond just some bionics. So much so, that despite countless hours bainstorming (usually when i can't sleep) i'm still no closer to even making a start. I was considering dropping from the thread and concentrating on other projects. However, that's something i didn't really want to do and i see that Mantis Warriors currently have no one supporting them. So, if nobody minds, i'd like to request a Chapter transfer from the Sons of Medusa to the Mantis Warriors. Doing a technalogical based chapter without them just being green Iron Hands was proving to be too much, i just couldn't find inspiration, however, doing a stealthy recon type chapter, equipped for long operations in the field and using guile rather than force to win though is something i already have plenty of ideas for :(. This gives it that shadowed effect, and looks a bit more realistic. Liking where you're going with the Executioners, bro. And feel free to steal whatever ideas you'd like. @Kingler: Smooth, I've always had a fear of split scheme armies, you've executed it very nicely. I have no damn excuse for missing the deadline this month. Yesterday was the Scottish Highland Games here, and I spent most the day enjoying a band from Scotland called Albannach, running around in my kilt, and getting -faced. Paying for it today too, lol. dirge caster Posted July 4, 2012 Author Share Posted July 4, 2012 Hi guys - sorry for not posting much on this thread recently. If I'm totally honest, I feel I've lost all motivation for my Raptors. I've painted them too dark and too drab and they just don't 'pop' the way I would have liked them to. I've recenly been thinking about Grey Knights models and how they could be combined with the Exorcists from the Badab War. I really wish I had picked them from the start now. I've been thinking about using Grey Knight Terminators painted in red with these shoulder pads. I've also been thinking about Paladins having daemons hovering over them to show their possession. I've sent Olisredan a message to see if I can can pinch his chapter. It goes against the nature of this thread but it would keep me motivated and would allow someone else to use the Raptors. So they are kind of finished, I'm just waiting for some brushes that I can cut up to start the weathering and then I'm going to move onto my 2 HQ's and another combat squad I think. Well, generally when I post a WIP, I just add the name, and make the viewer try to figure out what the hell I'm doing (don't feel bad, I don't know half the time either, lol), but I felt this next guy needs a little explaination. Any joint task force usually has liasons working alongside their counterparts, supported in uncountable places in multiple BL book (and real life, of course), and I always wondered what happened to those who were attached alongside the Astral Claws. I thought, "Y'know, Huron had a force of personality to turn a full 4 Chapters (5 if you want to count the Tiger Claws) and an entire sector to his vision, and a silver tongue to match. What friggin' chance would some poor outsider have spending every single day next to Huron, slowly being poisoned by his charm, to resist and stay loyal?" My guess? Not a chance in Hell. So, what would happen to these outsiders, utterly loyal to Huron, after their Chapters surrendered?
