Drop Pods as Weapon Platforms

Fortunatly drop pods require a little less luck thanks to their stabizers. Also, where does it say they can't shot the turn they come in? The stormbolter is assault and a defensive weapon. You only wouldn't be able to use the deathwind as it is heavy.

 

Also for the sake of completeness, defensive weapons cannot be fired all the time. They can always be fired when a non-stunned/shaken vehicle moves and could fire one main weapon. Storm bolters being defensive doesn't mean a non-fast vehicle can fire them after moving 12", as the rulebook clearly states that such a vehicle can fire no weapons at all when moving that far.
