Captain Mike
I was thinking that. I did it my usual way, but it hasn't worked as well. I'm going to try again I thinks. Captain Mike
Okay. I mixed ice blue and skull white, and drybrushed that over the plasma coils. Looks good in real life, but I thought it oughta try some different techniques for taking pictures. Just tell me which one seems better. This is under a combination of natural light and a spot light about 2m away. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010118.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010119.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010120.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010121.jpg (same again, but back view) http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010122.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251494-fire-badgers/page/3/#findComment-3117561 Share on other sites

Captain Mike
Lets try this. Pics came out a bit blurry. Not sure why. War Angel
Those ropes on the front are to hold up a cloak. Captain Mike
Yeah I know, but I like the rope, gives a bit more detail, so I kept it. Lets try these. Should be clearer. I covered up those metal dots I think the camera was focussing on, and taken these pictures in sunlight. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010129.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010130.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010131.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251494-fire-badgers/page/3/#findComment-3118568 Share on other sites
Boramar
Those ropes on the front are to hold up a cloak. They don't look as purposeful with out the cloak Those ropes can also be a form of honors. Captain Mike
I like the color scheme the orange on black talks to me. Don't listen! It's all lies! But thank you. I liked the colour scheme as soon as I started doing it. Pretty easy, too. Captain Mike
Well boys and girls, ain't you all lucky, I have 5 more troopers for you! One is just a hair re paint of one I posted earlier but still...# Scout Snipers in the Fire Badgers tend to be a controlled yet still insane lot, who relish in the sight of limbs being removed with surgical precision, and the thrill of hunting their prey. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010132.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010134.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010137.jpg (1000 yd stare) Sean Connery is about to shoot you. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010138.jpg (I lied. Captain Mike
Not much to say. Just heavy bolter guy. The script on the feed belt is to mask where I didn't put it together quite right. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010139.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010140.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010141.jpg Working on the command squad at the moment. Captain Mike
Time to wake the Fire Badgers up again I think. So I've been in my first year of University, and the time for painting was short. Now that I've settled into my new house, and with all my tools and paints, I've decided to get back to work on everyone's favourite terribly named chapter (statistics curiously missing). Nothing much at the moment, just a little pledge that I am working! http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/P1010159.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/P1010160.jpg Unfortunately, games workshop stopped making blazing orange paint, so I'm having to experiment a little to get the right tone. Until then expect a lot of black undercoating... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251494-fire-badgers/page/3/#findComment-3437409 Share on other sites
Firepower
Come on man, this is just unfair. I can't sincerely C&C a paintjob when it's a Chapter like the Fire Badgers. It would be like explaining the finer points of formal silverware arrangement to a rabid hippopotamus. :teehee: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251494-fire-badgers/page/3/#findComment-3437414 Share on other sites

Captain Mike
Bit of work. Probably should have picked a less central model to regain painting on... My idea was that seeing as Fire Badgers see combat as form of worship to the God-Emperor, their fightiest men will be suitably religious. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010161.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010162.jpg (New house, need to find a good light spot) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251494-fire-badgers/page/3/#findComment-3438081 Share on other sites
apologist
Looking cool! If you're still open to ideas about the name, the Wiki entry another poster linked to mentions: The Oxford English Dictionary states it probably derives from "badge" + -ard, referring to the white mark borne like a badge on its forehead. I think White Marks sounds like a cool name, and it matches the white helms your marines have. Just a thought! Either way, the force is starting to take shape nicely. The champion is especially cool. Captain Mike
Apothecary WIP. Just need to base it, really. Captain Mike
Just a little work on a scratch built techmarine. I thought the legs could be to add support when he's doing heavy lifting. Except his version of repair seems to be the Age of Empires one. http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010170.jpg http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr344/Captain_Mike_Parker/Fire%20Badgers/P1010171.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251494-fire-badgers/page/3/#findComment-3441659 Share on other sites
Lenios
I'm just gonna leave this here. Anyway... These are really nice, I always love colour schemes with orange in.
