Help please on 1000 Sons markings

Please could someone tell me what markings TS marines had on their right shoulder pads pre-Heresy?

 

Did they just have the standard arrow for tactical marines like everyone else, or did they have a different symbol(s)?

As I understand it the Tactical Arrow is post-HH, a product of the Codex reorganization (though I suppose it might be seen on Ultras during the Great Crusade/HH).

From what I remember of Collected Visions there are no set markings for the right pad. Members of the Scarab Occult have a large golden scarab there, but that's all.

Personally I've left mine blank so far, but hope to make a squad icon for each to put on the right.

Left Shoulder pad (The model's left) is the Sun mark, and The right side has their respective fellowship marking on it.

Yup.

A Thousand Sons, p.26 states that Sobek has a golden scarab on his right shoulder and on the left is a raven's head at the center of the Legion's serpentine star.

 

But, as with everything in this hobby Tycho, they're your toy soldiers, build and paint them however you wish. :P

I may get my history books out and look for an appropriate symbol that takes my fancy.
