Unfortunately I have nothing completed to show you, I have had no time at all this month do any painting or building :( . However it is time for everyone else to show us your bits. I tend to build up batches of models then paint them together, it works better for me that way and i only have to deep clean the airbrush once (which takes longer than it does to actually paint the models!) than repeat the process over and over after each squad/vehicle. Im building the trident apoc formation from IA Apoc second edition for a game in october. And yes that is a Mk 2B, I do like it more than the standard kit. On the painting table and on the sprues I have the following: 20 devastators, 26 assault marines, 20 tacticals, 25 terminators 1 land raider, 1 dreadnought, 15 Sanguniary Guard, I also have the 40k box on its way to mine too - so I will be doing a renegade lamenters warband too. Also, I have a cast iron (and sensible) argument that will definitely guarantee that your missus will let you get one of those badboys. 1 - they are only £40 ar ikea 2- you can store more than one carry case's worth of troops inside them 3 - they cost the same as a GW carry case (that's not entirely true but as long as you don't let her read this you are safe). 4- If a reasoned argument fails (which it well may) just sulk until she lets you get a display case for your 'little toy soldiers'. I suggest you let the condescending tone slide this once. Good luck, I'm sure many of us here will have our fingers crossed for you in carrying out this most noble ot quests. What made you choose lamenters may i ask? Yeah i saw them once when i was browsing the ikea website, 40 notes is a steal if you ask me. I always keep telling myself that I won't get more till I have done what I have..... Only have 10 tacs, 15 assault, 10 temies and the land raider to build. Though for me that involves a lot of conversion work. What formation are you building? Can't wait to see the whole lot, apoc formations are the best (worst) excuse to buy tons of stuff at once. I can't decide which one to go for. I may put a post up in the apoc thread to see what response I get. I got the third terminator assault squad built last nite much to my surprise. Though I don't see why you couldn't but the data sheet says 3 assault rams. Anyhow I'll find out if I can or I can't. The only thing that worries me is that the trident assault force must deep strike so I may not use a formation at all, but the melts torpedoes (I think without looking at the book) are too tempting. I know three assault rams is a bit excessive but it's a one off so I thought why not. Also I'm not talented enough to make things from scratch so I save up and buy the model I want. It maybe not cost effective but it's the only way it's gonna happen. No cabinet yet but maybe soon hopefully. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

How did you do it may i ask? My plans my my apoc formation have taken a set back. Due to time, real life and working hard it wont be ready for the 6th october unfortunatly, BUT, i'll still be working on it and hopefully it will be ready be christmas for me and my gaming buddys annual christmas apoc game, though we may sneak a game in before then and were planning on redoing the campaign from IA9 as a run up to the big showdown at the palace of thorns. Im still pondering what to take to the apoc game. In other news, I managed to finish this, this week http://i46.tinypic.com/2vttb8o.jpg I used it in a game on thursday escorting a caestus and it worked really well, really pleased with it and its a great model to build.
