I have still been playing 40K among my other games but i seem to always forget to take pics especially since we have been playing a bunch of small fast 1K games.

 

 

 

My buddy got his lovely all shooty nid army painted up, and yes those are barbed heradules. he got them to use as his tyranofex's before the new model came out...and occasionally they are heradules depending on the points level we play.

We ended up with a 12" deployment capture and control mission.

 

Even though he had lots of S8 and some S10 shots he held back and used cover to keep hid big bugs alive(we count forests as cover for vehicles and MCs if your in it or behind it) i managed tokill a single tyranofex but it took like 3 turns and a bunch of las-cannon shots.

 

After brey'arth came in i kept him hovering around my objective just in case any of his big bugs got the inclination to move forward. being immune to extra dice from MC attacks makes him a death sentence for anything less than base S7.

 

This turned it inot a long range shooting war, near the end i worked my magic on his warrior squad holding his objective with heavy bolter, thuindefire cannon and whirlwind shots. unfortunately warriors are synaps and while i took him down to a single warrior with a single wound he still held on to eak out a tie game.

For sillyness sake i had my friend break out his old 3rd ed iron warrior army in all its painful glory though i forgot to snap pics of that one. we ended up battling each other to a draw in a KP game. with 4 KP each...we played it out to the bitter end and i ended up taking him down to the man(blessed is the machinegod and the workings of the mechanicum) with the only additional damage being the ultra getting immobilised and loosing a single twin linked las-cannon. those old las/plas squads with tank hunter are nasty, well that and AV 14 preds that self repair plus the 9 oblits are nothing to sneeze at either.
