True Scale Dark Angels 5th Company

Recommended Posts

OK so project after project seems to be falling by the wayside but finally, FINALLY I'm getting to make the true scale force I've always wanted.

Here's the plan

Master of the 5th (Orias I think)

Command Squad

Razorback

10 x Tactical

10 x Tactical

5 x Assault

5 X Deathwing

Dreadnought

All will be truescaled although I'm just using a Contemptor for the Dread.

Here are my first 5 efforts

And finally a scale shot

I'm really pleased with them so far, They have been painted using the new GW paints and I'm pretty pleased with the effect. I'm working hard on the other 5 from this squad and Master Orias himself.

C&C Welcome

Well, as all of your projects, this one does not disappoint! Your True-Scale Marines are very nice. The robes are well sculpted and you've got them all bulked up quite well

Looking forward to seeing progress!

Ludovic

Edit: The only thing I find a bit strange, is the fact that the first Astartes looks like his armour is darker than the rest. Was that what you wanted?

Wow dude, putting the truescale thing aside these are just beautiful DA. Love the character that each individual has.

Especially love the Sergeant, his chainsword is awesome! The fact that these are truescale just makes them that little bit better.

Wow thank you one and all. They are indeed the ones from Worthy Painting as I am Ben! They are a mixture of the chapterhouse and now sadly retired warsmith kit.

The green was really simple and a new reciepe for me - Start with an Army Painter Green base coat and wash the entire model with Nuln Oil. Paint the large areas pads, knees etc with Caliban green. Highlights are Warpstone glow followed by moot green.

The base is Astrogranite washed with Nuln Oil and drybrushed with fortress grey (Still using the old paints too!) Attach a a self adhesive grass tuft and drybrush the whole base and lower legs with MiG powder ( I used Panzer Grey) to creat a dusty effect.

I plan to do the other 5 from this squad over the weekend so expect picture updates regulary. If you'd like a step by step on the green or the base let me know

Cheers AB (Ben)

Your painting seems to have really improved since the last time I saw your work. Not that it was anything shabby to begin with.

I'm really liking the green, and the robes on the first Marine look fantastic. Keep it up! A tabletop covered in these Angels would look stunning. :P
