Angels_Blade
OK so project after project seems to be falling by the wayside but finally, FINALLY I'm getting to make the true scale force I've always wanted. Here's the plan Master of the 5th (Orias I think) Command Squad Razorback 10 x Tactical 10 x Tactical 5 x Assault 5 X Deathwing Dreadnought All will be truescaled although I'm just using a Contemptor for the Dread. Here are my first 5 efforts http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/9.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/8.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/7.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/6.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/5.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/4.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/2.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/1.jpg And finally a scale shot http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o138/mustanguk/true_dangel10.jpg I'm really pleased with them so far, They have been painted using the new GW paints and I'm pretty pleased with the effect. I'm working hard on the other 5 from this squad and Master Orias himself. Dosjetka
Well, as all of your projects, this one does not disappoint! Your True-Scale Marines are very nice. The robes are well sculpted and you've got them all bulked up quite well  Looking forward to seeing progress! Ludovic Edit: The only thing I find a bit strange, is the fact that the first Astartes looks like his armour is darker than the rest. Was that what you wanted? Grotsmasha
Awesome, those Chapter House look pretty good all painted up. Nice job all round, I can't wait to see the rest. Angels_Blade
Thanks Guys, The colour issue is an artificial one created by my lack of photography skills. Something to do with the robes darkening the armour. Honest ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251663-true-scale-dark-angels-5th-company/#findComment-3051241 Share on other sites

MagicMan
Wow dude, putting the truescale thing aside these are just beautiful DA. Love the character that each individual has. Especially love the Sergeant, his chainsword is awesome! The fact that these are truescale just makes them that little bit better. KJB
So did you follow their paint scheme too? They look awesome Seconded, how did you do the green? The one thing that put me off starting DA was I couldn't get the green right - yours looks superb Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251663-true-scale-dark-angels-5th-company/#findComment-3051308 Share on other sites
MagicMan
Quick Question, how did you do the bases? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251663-true-scale-dark-angels-5th-company/#findComment-3051310 Share on other sites
Angels_Blade
Wow thank you one and all. They are indeed the ones from Worthy Painting as I am Ben! They are a mixture of the chapterhouse and now sadly retired warsmith kit. The green was really simple and a new reciepe for me - Start with an Army Painter Green base coat and wash the entire model with Nuln Oil. Paint the large areas pads, knees etc with Caliban green. Highlights are Warpstone glow followed by moot green. The base is Astrogranite washed with Nuln Oil and drybrushed with fortress grey (Still using the old paints too!) Attach a a self adhesive grass tuft and drybrush the whole base and lower legs with MiG powder ( I used Panzer Grey) to creat a dusty effect. I plan to do the other 5 from this squad over the weekend so expect picture updates regulary. If you'd like a step by step on the green or the base let me know Cheers AB (Ben) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251663-true-scale-dark-angels-5th-company/#findComment-3051354 Share on other sites
Subtle Discord
Yes! That's what Dark Angles Green should look like. They've got that eery glowing effect I tend to like. Top notch. MagicMan
Ah so the bases are the new textured paint? I just wondered how you got such a low surface. Usually glued on sand sticks up quite a bit higher than that. SincaiN
Very nice work .. they look very clean and it's hard to tell there are any changes until you see them next to a normal scale marine .. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251663-true-scale-dark-angels-5th-company/#findComment-3051451 Share on other sites
KJB
Cheers for that, is Army Painter green similar to Caliban Green? Was thinking of doing a Caliban Green base, Nuln Oil wash followed by a layer of Caliban Green again Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251663-true-scale-dark-angels-5th-company/#findComment-3051462 Share on other sites
Hexagon Sun
These look awesome, really good job there. Look forward to seeing more. Keith, Angels green is identical to the old DA green so it's quite different to caliban green. Tyrannicide
Your painting seems to have really improved since the last time I saw your work. Not that it was anything shabby to begin with. I'm really liking the green, and the robes on the first Marine look fantastic. Keep it up! A tabletop covered in these Angels would look stunning. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251663-true-scale-dark-angels-5th-company/#findComment-3051536 Share on other sites
