adamv6
My son asked me to try and make him a Runepriest model in Power Armour. He already has one in TDA, but wanted the option for a PA version. I had a wander through the SW 'dex, and realised that his wargear and upgrade options fitted perfectly with my spares box, and created him this; http://i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh493/GreyknightV6/2012-05-03142033.jpg The staff, and SB arm are from a GK SS boxset, the backpack is a modified GK Interceptor pack (I like the way the backpack looks like it has a kind of fusion engine in the middle of it). All the rest are standard SW parts, the base is off eBay. (pack of 10 - £2 :)) I am not the worlds best painter, but don't think I do a horrific job. The advice I am seeking is what todo with the staff? Also, I checked the PCA section for a tutorial on painting runes, but couldn't find one. Any advice on that would be great as well :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251773-rune-priest-model/ Share on other sites
Schertenleib
Honestly I would not have mounted the Stormbolter. I never actually shoot with any of my Rune Priests. There always casting one of their powers during the Shooting Phase. Rybnick
I agree the storm bolter is a little out of place considering the great shooting powers RP's have access to, but when applying the "the rule of cool" to the model it fit's right in :) As far as the staff I'm having a harrd time figuring out exactly what it is from the picture, it looks like one of the backpack toppers from the SW pack box. I'm not sure what advice to give really I think the rest of your painting on the RP looks great, maybe just pick out some of the details on the haft in gold or silver and paint up the staff top and your set. Blackmane
I used a nemesis force halberd for my staff. As for painting runes: same technique as you would use for scratches: high lights under the rune. MalachiOfRuss
I converted a RP using the Nemesis Warding Staff. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7271/6882568174_0e026d43a2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251773-rune-priest-model/#findComment-3053368 Share on other sites
Emperor's Scourge
The second is most GK parts. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0_ZDwBck1h0/TGjdtNUyaVI/AAAAAAAAAHk/_gVbPBrSrZU/s1600/Space%20Wolf%20WIP%20002.JPG http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GMvuRyn8QXM/TfGngZL0bRI/AAAAAAAAAXM/gGBUItZe8WE/s1600/Space%20Wolf%20WIP%20030.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251773-rune-priest-model/#findComment-3056185 Share on other sites
Kierdale
Adam I think you did a very good job! As have the others, too. Could you give us some pictures from other angles? It might help us come up with suggestions for painting the staff.
