BattleBrotherJohn
Hear are some wip pictues of the Dreadnought I am doing for the Imperial Fists expansion project. This is my dread after the first five coats of golden yellow ( finishing off my stocks of old paint before buying any new ones ) . http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee398/john123418/DSC00186.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee398/john123418/DSC00187.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee398/john123418/DSC00188.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee398/john123418/DSC00189.jpg So time to give it a wash and start on then working up the yellow again ( another 5 coats or so should do it ). nurglespuss
Looking good, the paint looks smooth with good coverage. What are you washing with? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251832-imperial-dread/#findComment-3053952 Share on other sites

nurglespuss
Cool ;) are you going to mix in sunburst yellow for the highlights? I know washes (even the magic new cones) can be a bugger over flat surfaces like 'vehicle' armour. Bat33.1
Cool ;) are you going to mix in sunburst yellow for the highlights? I know washes (even the magic new cones) can be a bugger over flat surfaces like 'vehicle' armour. Add some Johnsons Klear to the wash as it will help pull it into the recesses and details and help prevent pooling on flat surfaces. nurglespuss
Also, if you fancy, pick up something Model Color Transparent Yellow and paint it in controlled coats over the top after highlights, you won't be sorry ;p this stuff is a proper cheat! BattleBrotherJohn
Seems a long time since I last posted ( actually it is - I must remember not to get distracted with side projects ). Anyway here is an update on my Imperial Fist Vow dreadnought. http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee398/john123418/DSC00231.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee398/john123418/DSC00230.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee398/john123418/DSC00229.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee398/john123418/DSC00228.jpg So just to finish up some details and the base and I am done.
