Gareth
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-q4e_cZUfjCM/T6QQfIu4WuI/AAAAAAAABaQ/u-cvmxI8vW4/s1600/IMG_3693.jpg I finally finished my 1500pt Grey knight army. I've been working on it inbetween other projects. It's been a labour of love. If you'd like to see more close ups, they're on the tale of painters blog. http://taleofpainters.blogspot.co.uk/2012/...-army-shot.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251898-1500pt-grey-knight-army-shot/ Share on other sites
Isiah
Saw this lot on Tale of Painters. Stunning work. Not the 'usual' GK look and none the worse for that!! The icy-steely blue looks awesome sauce on the snow bases. Love the pose of the Contemptor. But waht I like best is the effort that has gone into the personal and Chapter heraldry. Great work sir. MithrilForge
2X :) as always Gareth, your stuff is incredibly inspiring!! may i ask,is the army put together for a "it Looks cool factor" or as a "practical(these units are reliable and work well together) type" army. cheers Mithril Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251898-1500pt-grey-knight-army-shot/#findComment-3055135 Share on other sites
Gareth
I go into more detail on why I choose the units I did. It's partly rule of cool, but also slightly playable. The big thing is I didn't want a min/max army like purely paladins and 3 dread knights. Those kind of armies are so boring and unimaginative. Crimson Hawk
:) Its a good thing that you didn't go for the 'traditional' GK army- I too subscribe to the rule of cool not the cheese factory most GK armies end up as. MithrilForge
Thanks G-Man, i will go and check the link  i see and agree, the cool factor before swiss is indeed a good philosophy when it comes to GK's perhaps i shall take a couple of pages out of your book when it comes time to do my GK army... also have you used the heavy squad yet? if yes how did they perform? a side note on that squad is that the staff iirc only protects them in Close Combat :) not from ranged attack... cheers Mithril Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251898-1500pt-grey-knight-army-shot/#findComment-3056015 Share on other sites
