No Foes Remain
Does anyone know of a decent wash that is very similar to Badab black? I ask because I knocked over my badab black last night and lost half of it so I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a wash that looks damn near enough the same to pass as it. /Ventris Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251908-badab-black-substitute/ Share on other sites
winterdyne
Nuln oil is very nice. A little thicker than badab, so if you want it to behave similarly you'll need to thin it a bit. Gareth
The Army Painter Warpaint Inks are suppose to be pretty good. Stahly did a review over on Tale of Painters. http://taleofpainters.blogspot.co.uk/2012/...paint-inks.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/251908-badab-black-substitute/#findComment-3054879 Share on other sites
No Foes Remain
Cool, thanks guys. I think I'll give Dark Tone Ink from Army Painter Warpaint a go since it should be: "I can assure you that Dark Tone Ink makes a perfect match for Badab Black." Adeptus-Alaska
failing that, armor wash from P3 works better than badab black imo. a little darker but the coverage is awesome. truth be told, I mix my own washes now. it's cheaper, I get axactly what I want/need and it's a great way to earn a little extra cash. Tybrus
The Army Painter Warpaint Inks are suppose to be pretty good. Stahly did a review over on Tale of Painters. http://taleofpainters.blogspot.co.uk/2012/...paint-inks.html THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok but really, I ordered 3 buckets of this stuff. I say buckets because the GW was ha .4 oz and these are .6 oz so 50% more. y wolves have a very simple armor that uses heavy Badab per guy, and lord help me with tanks. Anyway, I have looked at everything you can get. I got the new Oils, they dry to dark and shiny. When Watered down they smear and leave a "Layer" of dryed crusty on the spot. Then "Secret Weapon "Heavy Body Black", way to dark has to be thinned and when thinned it pools. Next a bottle of P3 armor wash I already had on hand, Did not give the right tent, but if I played with it long enough I might make it work. Then say the message above, and thought :). Ordered 3 "buckets' and went to work. I Assaulted my pour marine like I was trying to drown his pup arse, and the set about and waited. The bad first, I had to watch it dry (Which was fast) to ensure no crusty but this stuff was easy to break up if still wet, that IS THE ONLY BAD!!!! But really it IS BAdab black, just like they claim. For my 12 bucks think it was, if I got 3 of them I got free shipping which paid for the extra bottle. Anyway less then a week, its here, and its PERFECT. Do what you like but I found my replacement, and the best thing is I don't have to change anything but a TAD more attention, never bad anyway...
