Daemon Prince of Nurgle COMMISSION

Recommended Posts

I have a new Project on the desk, It's a Daemon Prince of Nurgle for 40k. It's going to be a huge conversion. The Daemon will be ascending from the sky pining a terminator into the ground. There are plenty more ideas for this piece but I'm not going to disclose them just yet. I'm opening this project log with some work that I did on the head of the Daemon. It's just the beginning but pretty soon there will be more, much more. You can stay tuned with this and some more of my projects by following me on Facebook or just taking a pick on my blog from time to time http://brovatar.blogspot.com/ . But I will be posting the progress on the forum as well.

Nice job from the waist up (or down considering its orientation) ... But, for me at least, the legs, feet, and tail kill the effect ... If it is you intent for him to be descending (ascending means going up BTW) from the sky in a type of swoop or dive, his legs, feet, and tail would be trailing more. I can tell from your GS work that you should be able to make the necessary conversion to the lower portion of his body with little difficulty.

Minor criticisms aside, that is an awesome model you are making there.

I agree with StrayCatt. From the waist upwards (wings included), it looks fantastic.

However the legs & tail really let it down, it looks like you have just slapped a set of 'standing' legs & a tail on it, and this makes the model lose all sense of momentum.

Wow! Those wings really finish him off well. You should probably paint it though ;P.

Going off the fact you're currently using a block of wax (with the sword jammed in) to hold him up, I'm guessing he's not actually going to be modelled to be diving but you haven't finished the base yet. If this is the case, he looks absolutely stunning. If not, then I'm going third StrayCatt's statement.

  • 2 weeks later...

I did what you suggested hope you like it :)

Started the base. The daemon is almost done.

There are some more photos on the blog http://brovatar.blogspot.com/2012/05/souls...ns-and-sac.html

When its finish i will make a video to show him in 360.

I must admit, I didn't quite get what you were trying to do with this in the first few posts... but now I see what you're doing, I can't help but be utterly impressed by your genius, good sir! B) It's a composition worthy of a Golden Daemon winner - more than just a simple wargaming model, it tells a story, it captures a single moment, like a still from your favourite action movie.

Superlative work! :tu: B)

That is truly amazing, I love the angle looking up from the Grey Knights point of view.

Does he fall over much / how heavy have you had to make the base?

Can't wait to see him finished.

outstanding work -_-

Rylanor.
