MordentHex
Sorry bro your models and paint ing is awesome but that plasmagun still screams at me to bright. subtlebrush
true scale is fun :) I've always loved it. Just makes more sense visually for me. Anyways, the Squad is going along nicely. waargh!
thanks for the ongoing support guys! :) The guy at the front with the sheild is my counts-as-Draigo test subject. Going for a generic space marine captain look so the only change will probably be the posing and kantor's back banner. Also there is my apothecary with a chaos marine helmet shaved down, another bolter and knife man, and a plasma guy with some running legs. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/44cool135.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/44146.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252126-truescale-imperial-fist-army/page/3/#findComment-3078088 Share on other sites

waargh!
While building the standard bearer I was trying to channel this classic black templar art that I would meticulously study as a 12 year old pouring over the 3rd ed rulebook. http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk297/M777A2/WH%2040K%20Stuff/black-templar-print.jpg Stupidly I didnt bother to google the picture while I built the model though and just went on recollection so the mini looks nothing like it ;) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/bannerbeaer74.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/banerbearer73.jpg so im thinking I will scrap this one and build a second standard bearer, and look at the art for reference this time :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252126-truescale-imperial-fist-army/page/3/#findComment-3079776 Share on other sites
subtlebrush
That was always one of my all time favorite pieces of artwork from when I was a lad as well. MordentHex
You could still go back and rework your model to be a little closer to the art. That are piece was probably one of the best in the 3rd ed. book. All your models look very nice, why settle for less than what you really want? Later after its painted you may be kicking yourself that you didn't. Mr Yellow
Just excellent, it's hitting my hobby ADHD in the sweet spot: abandon all that I have done and have not done already buy more stuff and do a new project instead. Wargamer
They are some of the most bad-ass Marines I've ever laid eyes on, and I am not normally a fan of Fists. :P Epic work! jimmimellows
firstly, your work in all areas is fantastic and i love pretty much everything you've done. That thunder hammer chap however is particularly special. I keep fancying a crack at truescale as you and several others make it look so good. Keep it up, this is a truly inspirational thread. waargh!
thanks man, Im glad I could kinda lead by example with this army, im really looking forward to seeing what people come up with now here is some hip hop and some space marines http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/hamsqd94.jpg in the background you can see where i chopped off that dudes arm, and also my wallet http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/hamsqd95.jpg peace Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252126-truescale-imperial-fist-army/page/3/#findComment-3086970 Share on other sites
waargh!
Ive dryfitted my dreads together. The contemptor took a bit of minor converting to get regular dread arms to fit on but I think it turned out alright with the lopsided configuration ive given it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/dreadsunpainted09.jpg The other dread's lascannon needed to be changed into an autocannon, so all I had to do was make a clone of the ammo barrels from the opposite arm and stick them on. Unfortunately the gun muzzles came out a bit wonky so I will have to redo them with plasticard. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/dreads313.jpg What I was wondering mainly though was whether the bare head looks too out of place http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/waargh/dreadruflemanface.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252126-truescale-imperial-fist-army/page/3/#findComment-3090776 Share on other sites
Pulse
Good looking dreadnaughts but i would have to say the bare head doesn't fit at all, stick a helmeted head in and you'll be fine. MordentHex
LIke he said. The dread needs a helmet. waargh!
Im going with the ridiculous look B) -edit- Its actually grown on me, its like a tangible reminder of the entombed. I mean they wear regular helmets, why couldnt said helmets be taken off? Ill paint it up all sickly like a thousand year old corpse should look Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252126-truescale-imperial-fist-army/page/3/#findComment-3091633 Share on other sites
