DinoDoc
I haven't read the book itself, but if he was dedicating his kills to the Blood God, then that's a form of worshipHe was fighting off possession by an exceptionally powerful Tzneetchian Daemon at the time. b At the time, this was heresy. Ward's dex makes it totally believable now. I would like Ben Counter to write another book though as he left Alaric's story hanging, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252143-black-library-books-on-grey-knights-and-the-inquisition/page/2/#findComment-3059503 Share on other sites
WimvH
They occured in a specific place, for a specific purpose. Step into this arena. Anything that dies *here* is in tribute to Khorne. Oh ok, I'll just kill everything to stay alive. Oh I've got to go back the next day? Nope, I won't try to escape, even if that means I'll most likely die. I'll stay here *for months* entering this arena, dedicated to a Choas Good, killing for his enjoyment. Well, indeed, again, trying to escape prematurely would serve no purpose except upping the body count. After all he DID escape whilst having the entire planet escape itself. Again, in this situation morals will always be debatable. And again, I appreciate the 40K universe for being able to raise complex situations like this. I feel you believe there are real good and bad guys in 40K. There just aren't, it's just never that clear-cut! And no, no radicals in the GK in the slighest! That's heresy! Well, it was. Until Ward decided that the GK would spill innocent Blood and coverthemseves in Blood. To stop a Blood Ritual of the Blood God... We might as well see GKs using Daemonweapons now. Oh Wait... WARD!!!! Ehm, you can hardly blame Ward for the fact thee are moral issues. Also, I kind of understand the reasoning behind the GK keeping weapons like that safe and in their possession. Gentlemanloser
Well, indeed, again, trying to escape prematurely would serve no purpose except upping the body count. After all he DID escape whilst having the entire planet escape itself. Er, it would have been *defiance* to a Chaos God. Alaric might have died in the attempt, but he would have taken some Daemonic forces out in the process. And not *willingly* stepped into an arena and killed for the Blood Gods pleasure. Again, in this situation morals will always be debatable. And again, I appreciate the 40K universe for being able to raise complex situations like this. I feel you believe there are real good and bad guys in 40K. There just aren't, it's just never that clear-cut! That might be true in 40K in general, but not really for the Astartes at large (you follow the emperors will) and the GK in specific. ;) Ehm, you can hardly blame Ward for the fact thee are moral issues. Also, I kind of understand the reasoning behind the GK keeping weapons like that safe and in their possession. You don't put the most powerful Daemonic Weapon in existance in perillous situations by taking it to a :( battlefield. Where the *only* person in the entire universe that can keep it under control could be killed by a stray shot. Or targetted on purpose. No. You get Crowe to hold it, then you stick him in a statis field for the rest of eternity. And lock him away in the deepest depths on Titan. With no one around him. That's the GK, and the 40k way (not to say the intelligent) wayof ding things. Wards way is to let the sword go out into a battle, and Crowe to take a Lascannon to the Head. Uh oh. Queue Daemonic Apocalypse in 3, 2, 1...
