Stripping paint from only PART of a model

Recommended Posts

Brush on some Simple Green? I'd hang the model so that it does not drip onto an area where it doesn't below. I have no idea how long it would take. I suspect a dozen "washes" and a toothbrush to aid in the removal of the paint.

Why not just prime with grey or black over the paint that is on the sword and cover the undesirable color(s)?

The easiest way would probably be a Simple Green dip. Suspend the model in the right orientation to put just the blade into the solution, and let it sit for a while. As for how to suspend it, I'd use something like this (which is a wonderfully useful tool for all sorts of things, and pretty cheap, so well worth having around).
I think I'm gonna try the nail polish remover. Someone on another forum suggested a kitchen cleaner aswell. I already reapplied a basecoat over an earlier attempt which is the reason why the paint is so thick so thats a no go.
