luckymutt
OK, so now that I've got my pauldrons going with chapter symbols, it is time to work on armour. My forthcoming DIY will feature a "naked" armour with only details painted, like the pauldrons and chapter/company badging. So my latest fruitless search has been for the technical color of ceramite. I have found nothing concreate other than it's manufacture. It being a ceramic base I suppose it could be manufactured with any base color. My plan is to use a mix of tin bitz and either boltgun metal or mithril silver. I'm leaning towards the silver and bronze as when I think of ceramics I invariably think of my wife's red clay pots, thus the reddish tinge of the bronze but I don't think it should be that dark. So, if anyone out there has GW/FW/BL evidence I would appreciate it. Otherwise, I'm open to thoughts and opinions. Thanks! Brother Nihm
Things that don't belong in the tutorials area: Questions that aren't a tutorial for starters. "What color do I highlight Scorpion Green with?" Isn't a tutorial or even a tutorial question. That is for General PCA Questions. Likewise, requests for tutorials are handled in this topicEverything else is for the PC&A general section. Topic moved. Montuhotep
Well, if you believe the current paint range, Ceramite is now white! Personally, I can envisage more of a dull grey - if I just go on the Charcharodons fluff that suggests most of their armour, if not all of it, is bare unpainted ceramite and plasteel. Whether that's actually accurate supposition is another matter - I don't think anyone has really come out and said one way or the other. Odsox
I can't be alone in believing that unpainted ceramite is a dull kind of grey by itself - the exact same colour as an untouched plastic Mk.IV breastplate fresh off the sprue. ....can I? ChaosLord Leon Enaek
In the Horus Heresy series the Death Guard have unpainted armour - its a sort of greyish off-white. Stolid Fox
If I'm remembering my Horus Heresy correctly the Luna Wolves were originally unpainted and then started dying green as the Sons of Horus. So yeah, an off white. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Black_Legi...The_Luna_Wolves for reference.
