winterdyne
If you can remove the clear plastic part and don't mind the effort you may be able to polish it back up. You'll need extremely fine grit emery paper (>=1200), toothpaste or polishing soap, a soft cloth, and finally some Future / Klear floor polish. Old recipe Klear if you're in the UK. Basically a really high flow, high gloss varnish. First gently wet sand the dirty surface with the emery. It will go foggy. You want the fogginess to be pretty even. Keep the paper clean and lubed; letting material build up can end up scratching the surface too deeply. Once this is done put a bit of toothpaste on the soft cloth and start polishing. The fogginess should start to clear a bit. As it does so, wet it with a bit of spit and see if it goes clear. If it does you can then dip the part in Future, put in on a piece of tissue (napkins are best as they're less fibrous) to wick off excess and COVER IT UNTIL IT DRIES. It's absolutely imperative to keep it dust free while drying, or you'll have spots on the canopy. The whole process will probably take a couple of hours (not including drying time). *Furyou Miko
Personally, when I get paint on my canopies, I wait for it to dry and scrape it off with a fingernail. >> Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252299-stormraven-windows/#findComment-3060095 Share on other sites
