heretic??ME??
So I just Googled and could not find if anyone had done this. Now everyone seems to want to extend the stormraven body but how about striping it down. Strip out the side doors and mount vehicle clamps instead with back landing gear. Magna clamp thingy on the back to hold in place. Maybe a tech marine red paint job....... for a recovery vehicle. maybe 5 man capacity tech marine and servitors squad? And yes its not fluffy but could be interesting. Especially for bringing tanks in with drop pod armies. Yeah I'm bored Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252316-could-a-modified-storm-raven-carry-a-rhino/ Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
And the marines could still ride in the rhino!! I like it and would love to see it. Maligoare
The Valkyrie Sky Talon certainly suggests to me that it's feasable. After all, if it can already carry a dreadnought, why not swap the passenger compartment for another couple of graples and carry a rhino instead? heretic??ME??
I'd forgotten the Sky talon. Great under section as well for inspiration. time to get ebaying, chopping and cutting me thinks. red_starrise
I'd say do it. It'd be like a baby thunderhawk transporter. Might wanna think about extending the hull a little though as, even if you cut away everything in front of the side doors to leave the lift jets & front gear, it'd still be a bit short. The chapterhouse kit makes it the right length, if you cut out the door section & everything below the big humps on either side of the fuselage that are right below the engines it'd work. The only hard part is you might have to try & figure out some modified landing struts, maybe wing mounts? Mechanically-speaking, I wouldn't think a rhino w/ 10 marines would weigh much more than a dreadnought & 12 marines. I'll say this though, from building vultures & a sky talon, even though IRL they'd be easily front-heavy, in practice the models like to lean on their tails. heretic??ME??
cool thanks for the tip. Might possibly use magnets to have the option to re attach the side and rear door sections. Need to crab an SR box this week end.
