Artein
I'm still waiting for a space RTS, Battlefleet Gothic meets Homeworld style. Jiron
I would go for a chaos space marine or chaos cultist. However, Inquisitorial henchman would be awesome as well. And a tactical game (such as fallout tactics) in Necromunda style would be awesome as well! Olis
I'd love to be an Inquisitor, in a Deus Ex style game. Something where you're given options on how to approach the game and how to build your character. You would be able to make a stealth-based character, a combat monster, or a psyker (or some combination of these). And there would be a 'morality' scale that goes from Puritan to Renegade, and gives different advantages depending on where you are on the scale (Renegades can use Xenos or Demon weapons, that sort of thing). Firstly, there's gotta be waaay more 'builds' than that - a tech orientated character with connection to the AdMech, an Inquisitor that has many specialised minions to do the work for him, an authoritarian who 'bullies' his way through conversations and situations, etc, etc. Which would mean quite a hell of a lot of options! :P Second, I hate 'black and white' morality scales. Life doesn't work like that and neither does 40k. I'd rather have a story where your deeds decide where the story goes and the path ahead of you is very labyrinthine. Just killed that Heretek menacing that AdMech waystation? The AdMech is rather grateful for your efforts and you could say... gain a follower or a rare weapon or something. Of course, if you off an Inquisitor for no reason, you might get in quite a bit of trouble... ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252384-what-would-you-want-to-play-as/page/3/#findComment-3235025 Share on other sites

Chapter-Master Caddius
I was intersted in playing as my homegrown Chapter Master on his bike when Dark Millenium came out. Unfortunately with it changing to a single-player game that looks like an increasingly unlikely thing. What I'd like to see is an MMORPG with Space Marine's combat system and graphics level, but also has the ability to give us the freedom to convert our character like we do our models. A tool in the game that could, as an example, take pieces from another model and be able to place it onto the model (let it sink into the model to simulate how you sometimes have to cut pieces off the model to make it fit), or even have a tool similar to how we use greenstuff. This game would be an instant buy for me. I'd even splassh out for a lifetime sub for such an MMO, I don't care if everything else about it is Warcraft 40K (If you keep the open world and grind a bit less that could actually be a selling point). alex567
I would like to see a campaign game where the main player is the squad leader, and other players can join your game and you make up a sort of motlly band of ragtag followers tasked with saving a word from destruction (or dooming it), so the main player is inquisitor x-cromozome, and he recruits squad members as a mix of your best budies and AI arterficial, and as you progress through the game enter buddy number 1 who happens to be some wierd looking rough as old boots guardsmen with a strange sigil around his neck. each player gets to make descisions affecting the capaign but other players (unless they're told) dont know what buttons they pressed, "oh yeah I pressed the "activate defense shielding" button", when your about to laser a friendly position surrounded by orks, from orbit, and it turns out you've just blown up your only source of information about the imerging chaos threat (but you dont know that yet). So a game based around good ol' friendly interaction and funny scenes, I would be an ork every time. The selection of characters is from every race in the game but they all have a part to play, ork pirate lookin for the loot? you gotcha! Imperial guard pilot? oh watcha know! Dark eldar pleasure slave? If you must! :). So a generaly all inclusive all round fun barrel of laughs that you all can enjoy, that covers all peoples preferences. Then the multiplayer would be trading items with friends and the shiz and you level up your campaign character (which carries over) with all sorts of cool equipment, and you can eitehr fight against other bands of people with your cool equipment, go into a mercenary mode where you lone wolves can have fun ambushing other lone wolves, or a horde mode where you team up with other players to fight against a swarm of enemies, option A would be against a typical foe, orks or waves of guardsmen, option B would be on the lost world of Agrax earth(which is always in the shade) you are stranded and awaiting valkyrie extraction or other means of transport, as you flee from ol typhus and his hordes of undead snacks... ere I mean zombies, and you fight until either a valkyrie arrives or just endless mashing zombies, with some other in game mechanic such as weapon drops or traps maybe strafing runs, but when I say hordes of zombies I'm talking like imagine your city x1000 then that would be a quater of what I mean, well over exagerating a bit, but I mean a hellofalot of zombies. But this character can be used in all walks of life, with all walks of equipment, from big kicking boots, all the way to orky power armour, imperial guardsmen wielding a heavy bolter, a space marine witha shotgun! Inclusion of vehicles although optional, is infact mandatory and by mandatory I mean, you see that inquisitor over there? expect heresy charges on your door if you deny, and when I say heresy charges I don't mean the "stand up in court your charged with theft kind" I mean the explosive kind!
