For the WIPs, have a look over HERE.

I am unreasonably happy about finishing this squad - I've kept updated almost regularly and finished the entire squad! So here's the group:

And a couple of stand-alones.

I never got to show off the back of Harach Skin-Eater, so here he is completed:

Brother Vermithrax, previously the squad's meltagunner before I realised I couldn't afford the points:

Kor Gallan, the Aspiring Champion:

And a close-up of their banner!:

That's it for now, I'll start work on my Chaos Rhino tonight, which will hopefully go into the WIP thread with no trouble. biggrin.gif

Thanks for looking!

P.S. ...ignore the unfinished Space Wolf helm, that's just a formality!

Thanks for your feedback, folks! Yeah, I really, really need to get a new card reader so I can use the pics from my semi-fancy digicam.

but... You forgot to paint the Space Marine helmet on the banner.

I thought noone would notice, but like I said,

P.S. ...ignore the unfinished Space Wolf helm, that's just a formality!

Unfortunately I don't have any Space Wolf grey and my regular opponent who plays as them doesn't have any either! So that bleeder's going to have to wait. :D Sorry.

Oh, and,

...I think bases could use some work.

I'd love some suggestions, if you care to elaborate. :P

Thanks again,

Od.

Hopefully I'll get my E TENEBRAE LUX challenge dreadnought finished and posted up here next!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the interest, brothers! I'm pleased to announce that Urkaz The Unhinged (and therefore my E TENEBRAE LUX vow) is finished and ready to slag some Loyalists - or maybe his brethren, it depends if he can roll well on the old Sanity table! He did murder my Sorcerer in my last game, but I suppose that's what I get for taking a wretched Psyker in a Khorne Army. xD

Also, don't worry, I'm going to take some more comprehensive shots tomorrow while there's daylight.

Couple of things I noted after his completion:

1) The banner's too static. Originally it was going to be tilted forward slightly but I got too excited in the building stages and it's stuck this way now.

2) He does not have glowing eyes. This is deliberate, but I am fully aware that it means it lacks a bit of menace. The reason I didn't give him glowing eyes is that I know what my hands are like and he would have ended up with a splotch on his faceplate that would ruin the whole model. I'll be working on fine details once my dexterity improves.

3) The Plasma cannon glow (which as it turns out shouldn't even be there) is quite muted. This is because that's the first plasma weapon I've painted since my loyalists and dammit, I like the muted look. I don't have to worry about getting the right number of highlights sorted this way.

Finally, here's what I'm working on next...

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for your replies, brothers! I can't stress how much fun it was putting that beast together.

As for your queries:

The symbol on top of the rhino is really well done. Is it plastic card and what did you use for the rivets?

It is indeed 3mm plasticard. I worked the basic design onto some graph paper, transferred it to card then did a simple trace and slice onto some plasticard. The rivets are plasticard too, just tiny squares.

If I may ask, how did you make that dread's arm?

It's a standard Venerable Dreadnought arm, with a greenstuffed mini Khorne logo on the shoulder/arm joint and the tip of the underslung flamer sliced off and replaced with one of the beast heads you get in any Chaos Vehicle box (although I did carve the chin out of it so I could fit the flamer nozzle into it). I sliced the fingers off, trimmed them and repositioned them to be spread a bit wider and at a more "open" angle as opposed to the loose fist of the original hand, then sliced off the finger tips, sliced off the tips from the Skaven Plagueclaw Catapult claw: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...t&p=3087197 and glued them into place as claws.

Here are couple of closer, better-lit shots:

And just for the lols, on the left is Ancient Balthus, the AoBR Dread and one of my very first painted minis (done in early 2010), and on the right is Urkaz, my latest mini.

I like to think I've improved a bit.

Thanks again for looking!

WHATTUP THO!

Finished my second vow for the E TENEBRAE LUX challenge and here he is, my Counts-As-Khârn; Derj Moloq, Master of the Rites Vitae!

http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/5255/derjmoloq.jpg

Clad in black armour adorned with beaten brass icons of Khorne and bearing the skulls of his greatest enemies upon his back, the Master of the Rites Vitae is a fearsome warrior, renowned for his zeal and fury. On the rare occasions he is called to war, Derj Moloq leads the Bloodbound, those Doomseekers who have given themselves over to the purity of worship through slaughter and the all-encompassing rage of the Blood God. It was he who, striding at the head of forty Bloodbound and roaring the Rites Vitae from his helm's vox speakers, led the charge which demolished all resistance during the Kainite Invasion, tearing into the massed Imperial Guard with unstoppable, righteous wrath.

The Master's duty is not simply the glory of battle and worshipful dedication to the Blood God, however. It is also his responsibility to judge the Bloodbound as they fight, watching for signs of weakness and hesitation, as well as the mercifully rare instances of warp-contamination. For when one of the Bloodbound loses sight of Khorne's glory or succumbs to the twisting touch of the Blood God's daemonic minions, it falls to Derj Moloq to end their suffering and to purge their minds of any weakness in the only faithful way; by taking their skulls.

...Anyway, thanks for looking and feel free to pop over to my WIP thread to see what I (should) be working on next.

Od.

Seriously sick work! Love what you did with the talons and the flamer. I just stumbled across ine of the gargoylesque cannon head pieces today and was wondering whay to do with it, lol.. Now I know! I can dress up my WB dreds heavy flamer! Thanks for the idea! Also your Khârn counts as looks pretty wicked too!

So thanks for looking and thanks very, very much for your patience! My next project is being planned out over here.

Cheers,

Od.

Whoa nice to see this thread come back to life. Also good to see berzerkers with proper backpacks - always hated the ones that come in the kit, and they never fit right.

It's unusual to see scrolls and parchments on Khorne warbands, always makes me think of the sanctified from the siege of Vraks.
