13,000 pts and counting - Raven Guard

So i finally decided to get around to it and set up my Raven Guard for a picture. Im still working on it and expanding it. I took this picture on 15 May 2012. Since then I have added 5 more termies and am waiting on a pile of models from a trade. Now for the picture.

dude. sick army. one quick question, though. how'd you make your land raider ares? there's not a kit on FW is there? just curious, thanks!

Thank you for you comments. I put alot of hard work into that army over the last year. As for my ares, I used a redeemer and the vindicator upgrade spue. I removed the top door of the assault ramp and cut the vindicator front plate to fit in the area. Then for the seige shield, you have to mount the supports to the inside by where the assault ramp is. It takes a bit of work, but it's worth it

Do you ever put € values on all of the kits that went into that impressive collection? I bet it's a small car worth. Bah, what fun is that? A fine force!

@ Kassill: It will have to be a few days to a week before I can get some close up. some of it is not as nicely painted as I would like, but I have only been doing this for a year, so there you go. thanks for your comments, they are much appreciated.

 

@ carpandean: I honestly have no clue how much money went into that, and its best I dont know. I got everything that is not forge world off ebay so it was about 50% off, if not more. but this is also just my raven guard. I also have a Red Scorpions army (about 2,000 pts) that I just started, an Cadian Guard army ((3,000 pts), and Elysian Drop Troop army (about 2,000 pts) and some random other things, so it is best I dont know how much I have spent.

3 rhinos that I got used and pretty damaged. The MK1 needed bolters and one looked like someone had tried to do some battle damage to it with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. The Mk2 was missing a turret and the headlights. Didn’t have spare headlights, but I did what I could with them. They are still pretty rough and im not happy with them.

2 kit bashed librarians. I tried a new thing with these. I based them completely in white, then did the armor and skin with just washes. I think they turned out pretty well. I had it pointed out to me that the book is rather large, but I did that on purpose.

And I thought I was crazy with a little over 2k of DA! Then again I have been collecting since 2006... I would love to get in an APOC game with you but I have no plans to travel to Germany. Although, the beer there would be incentive enough... hmm i might have to go to Germany now! Cheers!
