No pics yet but I've taken a second hand bike, and repurposed it with the sidecar sprue seen here into an attack bike. This way I come out of this with a bike left over which can be used for an INT chappie, which is not part of my vow *yet* :D :)

Called up the Local game store i'd ordered my Samael to come to and Samael was in!!!

Came home and as much as i wanted to assemble samael I though i'd use my time more practically as I had the workspace set up for plastic allready

Pics to follow

I assembled 7 Bike Chassis's Handlebars and front fairing excluded Going to put the HB's on next and then basecoat the bikes. I leave the front shield off until i've had a chance to paint it seperately and paint the details underneath (I also filed out the seats for the magnets)

2 hrs to do so not that bad if you ask me

Then I assembled Samael, Lost his sword in the process so I used one of the ravenwing powerswords for him, what the hey

A lot to do there

Are you going to smooth the join on the bikes front mudguards?

This is one of my hates about the bike model so I usually try to sand it flat as it can really stand out after drybrushing.

Edit - you might find it difficult to paint some of the detail on Sammie as you have assembled him.

I have every faith on Evil Eyeball! He will not fail!

Doing well mate - keep it up ;)

your faith may be misplaced captain... Though i may suceed my models may come out looking like they were painted by a 6 year old.... I am not a very good painter but I do what I can.

Endure

Persevere

Triumph

A moment's doubt spawns a lifetime of Vow Failure.

Will you allow for that to happen?

Better to die as a barely-table-top painter than live as a barely-assembled player!

Who is with me, Brothers?

(walks back to his "I know its friday, but really need these massive reports for my monday morning meeting")

Naaaah, you'll do alright! As long as you try your best, you have nothing to worry about. This is not Golden Demon... Infact this could be a good excuse to improve your skills in a fairly short time! Don't be afraid to experiment and let me tell you, some of the work I'm most proud of come from minis that at some point I've written of. Just don't let go!

For the Lion! :P

Oh, and what Tanhausen said! :)

Good news folks, Tomorrow morning is Spray day, I'll be base coating all the chunks of the vow, that i have done,

I have to find a few proper arms that can have their hand converted as i did last time for the Special troopers as with me magnetizing the riders I don't have enough right biker arms

(Need 3 extra)

I also went out and bough some of the new paints

For making the black on this unit and for washing my allready mostly painted unit I couldn't vow.

I may however have to use the plasma guns I undercoated for that unit in this vow if i can't find another couple of arms to mount the two i found tonight on.

Also I went out and got a 3rd box of RW dudes which leaves me needing only 3 LS's for my 1850 list

I'm also in the process of picking up some bits online here as well so i can make the other things i need

May the force be with me

Well folks, It rained here today so no painting was done, I did however do much of the magnetising work and I purchaced online the bits to make an apothecary for the squad as if you will see in the main thread I added one to my vow.

PS I should move that post over to this post LOL

I am at the moment working on this vow, I am however at a loss as to what i did last time finding good right arms to if nececary swap the thums from left bolder griping hands for biker arms

Anyone got any good tips at making right biker arms.

I need extra arms see as I'm magnetizing the riders to the bikes and for the robed riders this means i don't have enough biker arms

I only need the right one because the left arms are magnetized with weapon options :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Still chugging along, I have black on Samael, I have white on his cape, I will be boning it sometime soon

I got in the mail the other day 3 Tactical upgrade sprues i bought on ebay..

Checking Bitz sites They wanted like $4 for flamers $3 Plasmas and $5 for meltas and $10 for Missile Launchers...

I paid $14 a piece for the whole spruce so $45 over all for 3

I'm only waiting on the apothecary bitz i ordered online.

Anyone though know a good place to get those right handed bolt pistols they have on the tac acessory sprue that are outstretched and plain

I need more arms to hold the special weapons and I don't necessarily want to chop up the plasma pistols in the same pose as I might want some plasma pistol action for later on for the army.

If you are like me you will have a few HK missiles lying around - or they are easier to get hold of.

Use this tutorial to convert them.

I have done one so far and it was fairly successful.

By the way - need to see photos of your wip :)

So Eyeball, I see you stick to the project - that's the spirit! It'll be great if you post some WIP pics (although not necessary under ETL rules) - a lot of people here have their own theories on bikes so it'll be a good opportunity to get feedback and ideas. Pictures will help immensly on that front! :)
