Kassill
So, as I'm painting up my Wolves, I decided I'd like to give armor chipping a go. I have seen some great armor wear here on the B&C and I've also seen some, IMO, over the top armor wear (If that's your thing, that's cool). I want to go for a nice balance of armor chipping small scratches, dings etc... The way I'm thinking it's done is generally pick out a spot on the painted armor (mine is grey) paint a spot of brown/black or some other dark color, then fill in the spot with metallic, then wash it to dirty it. Am I even ball park close? Any tips, tutorials, advice would be great! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252517-armor-chipping/ Share on other sites
Tanhausen
I've seen good results with something along the lines: Draw a bit star-ish patter with a very clear brown. Repeat the pattern with a darker brown, leaving just a little bit of the rim with the clear colour. Repeat and keep darkening until you get to black. Its easier done than explained and it works decently. Hope it helps!
