MadDoc Posted June 20, 2012 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Now, on to topic of wishlisting:I would like to see our Terminators divided into Deathwing and Deathwing Assault. Deathwing are 5-10 in squad size, can have 1 special weapon per 5 terminators, mix and match as per now, and fall into the Troops section. Deathwing Assault are 3-5, can have 2 special weapons, have 'personal teleporters', and are Elites. Very Respectfully, --Unforgiven Personally, I'd prefer Deathwing stay a single squad, stay Elites, but gain a few new options. One use 'personal teleporters' or some kind of 'Site-to-site/Emergency shunt' as an upgrade isn't a bad idea though. Yes, it was just a joke. And I consciously placed that smily face there in hopes it would be perceived as such. No biggie though, sarcasm fails most of the time on the web. You'll have to forgive me. Bitter experience makes it hard to tell whether people are joking, taking the mick or honestly believe the pap they're peddling. Why do all our wishlisting threads devolve into personal attacks? A lack of funny bone and inflated egos I presume. Let's just have fun yeah? Saves CL a job being the web-police, I'm sure he'd rather be here enjoying DA discussion instead. No personal attacks in anything I wrote, I critiqued ideas and evidence/arguments, not a single one of my remarks was directed at anybody on a personal level, and I don't see anybody else making remarks that were directed at individuals, directly or otherwise, other than the oblique personal remarks you make above. Azrael is a good start point how he is ATM to support PA squads...im not sure about the following: Are PCs for TacSqds cheaper than for a normal SM Squad? My powergaming friend mentioned sth like this, but im outta any rules wisdom totally!:) As Cool as DW/RW are, i personally would prefer to play mostly PA guys...So any ideas about buffing them?...As i said already Azrael is a good start there, and i also already mentioned Brother Bethor and his 3 standards....any other ideas for PA guys? Oh and the ICs need a revamp...was reading the last SW and BA dexes, pretty much OP ICs there with almost always WS 6... So i want WS 6 on many stuff, even normal Wolf lords got WS 6... Brother-Chaplain Nemiel Posted June 20, 2012 Share Posted June 20, 2012 Well im not much of a friend of teleportation from A to B during a battle, just fluffwise...even normal teleportation is overrepresented in the game imo, no matter that we do profit from this rulewise with our DW! Fluffwise its something for the last resort methods, not a reliable stratagem...but thats just my personal view! Here's hoping LRs get a survivability/efficiency for their cost boost. It looks probable in the rumours threads but there are many variables to be mooched over before the dust truly settles on power/efficient lists. Kewl Imp Posted June 20, 2012 Share Posted June 20, 2012 I would like to see more troop choices or a wider selection of wargear for the 1 standard troop choice. I think the fluff would agree with that. Since the Dark Angels are more tactical is would make sense. Maybe upgrade the sargeant with an iron halo or something(yes I know thats a bit much). Maybe a new weapon type. We have chainswords, power swords, poison swords. Maybe a sword type that would allow units on in base to base contact join the fray. I've always fancied something along these lines too. Honestly? I would hate this. Too much like Grey Knights and as far as I know, not supported by any of our background. Our teleportation equipment isn't any better than that of other chapters, we're just more willing to, and better trained to, use it for en masse deployment of our 1st Company. Same of the actual Terminator armour itself; no different to other chapters, just more prevalent. Point A to the Barge, Barge to Point B. We're Our equipment isn't better than others (nor smaller) we are just more likely to use it. :) This would allow the "shunt" move and would make our tactical terminators much more viable. It'd make foot DW very mysterious and awkwark for an opponent to keep up with. Still keeps the dangers of DSing onto a busy battlefield though and prevents assaults from us. It would promote more tac termies instead of TH/SS ones too fantastically as you say. Tie it to a 35+point upgrade for our DW Sgts and it's a win. :D stobz EDIT: Just re-read your proposal, only giving it to the "Assault" elite unit you mention is a great way to get twin AC squads back in vogue. DS in 24" away, unleash. Take return fire. Shunt back out next turn. DS back in following turn and repeat.
