Zackya7x
Hey guys, it's me again, anyway... So, since most people model their Grey Hunters with both boltgun and chainsword, how legal is it? I mean, I know you guys will say it doesn't matter, but for me it does. How accurate is it for Space Wolves (or other Space Marines) to wield it with one hand? I know they had a rule called True Grit before and is no longer in use. Are there any instances that they wield it with one hand in books/fluffs? I just want to know how accurate I'm modeling my Grey Hunters. Thanks, guys! Marmande
It's perfectly legal; I've even modeled a Grey Hunter with his pistol out and his Bolter mag-locked to his lower back. shortysl
It is known that Astartes are capable of firing a Bolter one-handed and Space Wolves are nothing if not crazy gung-ho lunatics! Wouldn't affect game rules but I can easily imagine a Grey Hunter smashing his Bolter into the face of an opponent as he whirls through a melee with his Chainsword. Wulfebane
Picture Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Eraser wielding two of those railguns in the final fight. Multiply by 100 to equal an Astartes, then another 50 to equal a Space Wolf. That should be a sufficient enough answer. Lord Ragnarok
This is no issue for any Astartes really. All three of my space marine armies has members holding with one hand. Makes the units look more dynamic with some holding with one, some clutched with both, some with bolter and bolt pistol and some holding CCW and bolter. Toasterfree
plus, if you look at the rules. they have BG BP and CCW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252623-boltguns-and-ccw-on-grey-hunters/#findComment-3065011 Share on other sites
Kassill
As much as we read about Space Marines being able to do incredible things, I don't think firing a bolter one handed is too far fetched. Now, I can't recall ever reading specifically "And with one hand did he unleash his bolter upon the foe..." but it isn't out of the realm of possibilities. Besides, look at some of the art. Plenty of one handed bolter firing. http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy134/Kassill1/7176179712_b57c8b5615_z.jpg http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy134/Kassill1/nemesis-incident-art.png http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy134/Kassill1/templar.jpg :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252623-boltguns-and-ccw-on-grey-hunters/#findComment-3065016 Share on other sites
WG Vrox
Yes, I remember in the William King series there were a few battle scenes that had wolves firing bolters one handed. Marmande
Not to mention they had the True Grit rule in the last codex, allowing them to use their Bolters one hand to gain an extra attack in combat. Forté
They have the strength to punch a man's head off! Think a bolter one handed is feasible. If you went back to Rogue Trader days your marines would have more equipment listed. Suspensors for example which reduce the weight of things.
