Hello, everyone! This is the second instalment in a series of entries in the Liber Astartes dedicated to my own Space Marine Chapters. These are ideas for Chapters that I'm not going to develop for various reasons (mostly for lack of time and money), so I'm kind of offering them up for whoever fancies them. So if you like any of these Chapters, feel totally free to adopt it as your own! Just remember to send me pictures of the painted miniatures for my collection!

CHAPTER COLOURS AND INSIGNIA

 

Chapter livery is dark grey, with red helmet, light grey aquila and black shoulder pads with grey trim. Chapter icon is a white skull.

 

Company number is displayed in gold or yellow on the right shoulder pad, over the squad marking. Squad markings are always red. Squad number is sometimes displayed in white on the left knee pad.

 

Sergeant's insignia is a variant of the Chapter icon: a white skull inside a red circle.

ORIGINS AND HISTORY

 

The Disciples of Death are a Chapter of the 23rd Founding, created from Ultramarine geneseed. In their relatively short history, they have built a fearsome reputation for their arrogance and brutal fearlessness in combat. It is said that the DM are trained to erase all traces of human weakness in them, and it is true that they have often displayed a blood-chilling indefference to danger, and their callousness and inhumanity are infamous even among the Space Marines. The Disciples of Death are said to despise "mere humans" and show no respect to any but the highest Imperial authorities. The Chapter rules its homeworld, Glór, with an iron hand, ruthlessly exploiting its resources and population. They are one of the most active "young" Chapters, always being active in at least one of the thousand battle fronts of the Imperium: currently, the Fifth Company is taking part in the pacification of Axturia with the forces of Inquisitor Kronen.

 

 

COMBAT DOCTRINE

 

The Disciples of Death make a point of being active at all times: even when attrition or lack of resources force them to refrain from embarking in any major war actions, they will send small numbers of veterans or scouts to fight alongside other Imperial -preferably Astartes or Inquisition- forces. In combat, they favor the use of heavy artillery and frontal assaults: the Chapter actually has two Assault Rerve Companies -the 7th and 8th- instead of one, and some Battle Companies have three assault squads.
