Sir_Isenhar
Hi guys, In the last White dwarf at the end displaying the Ice themed terrain they show a picture of the moonscape craters made into frozen Ice pools... which in my opinion can be converted easily into lava pools.. My only problem is how did they make it? to have holes and bubbles and which way to paint? Painting a Lava base with a small river is easy but painting a big pool wound require a different technique to seem realistic I think.... I bought the moonscape and the GW water effects but I havent tried it yet.. Anyone tried it or can point out a good tutorial because I have looked a while on the Internet and cannot find anything.. Playa
Hey, I have looked a while on the Internet and cannot find anything Glue marbles in the bottom of the craters. Pour in plaster until marbles are covered half-way up. When dry, prime all white and slather on water effects. Paint to taste. Post pics. I did some research.. It says plaster heats up to get hard and dry and according to this article can even cause burns... Will it not melt the moonscape craters which are just very thin plastic craters? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/6485481.stm Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252722-how-to-make-lava-pools-from-the-moonscape-craters/#findComment-3069200 Share on other sites

Olis
*Sharp intake of breath* Oh, wow. I had never thought to use marbles for that sort of thing, Playa. I personally would use PVA rather than plaster, though. Phoros
There was a mini-tutorial on it in the Ogre Kingdoms white dwarf last year. They used polyfilla and pushed beads in for the bubbles/a brush end to make the "just popped" ones.
