Grey hunter combat weapons and long fang heavy weapons

Hello again all,

I'm soon to be working on a small space wlf force (around about 600 points at the moment) and want to make it more individual by converting as much as I can - I've got a few ideas for each squad and was hoping for opinions and perhaps even some similar pictures if anyone has anything? Anyway, here goes:

Grey Hunters - I was thinking of using chaos warrior/marauder axes as the close combat weapons rather than chainswords? Also having several models with their bolters hosltered and their pistols/ccw out.

Long Fangs - using the current SW plastics and a couple of the heresy era missile launchers as well as a few current ones?

Thanks in advance guys.

Dan

I agree with Russ Brother 92. If it\'s marauder/chaos mingled SW armor and heresy era flare, you absolutely need to view MaveriK\'s blog.

To a lesser extent, I feel I managed to get my spearhead pack of GH to look very individual.

Thanks for the responses so far guys.

I'd suggest for your Grey Hunters have a look at MaveriK's work as he's got some very nice marauder based conversions in there.

As for the Long Fangs I suggest you go for it :P heresy era weapons are ace!

I've been slowly chewing through his thread - onto about page 5 now and I must say its looking amazing, though I'm not sure I'd want to go with the marauder/beastmen bare arms. I've got a bucket load of Chaos Warrior/Chaos Marauder hand weapons spare and am wondering about literally just replacing the chainswords with them.

They look amazing - I've had a look through your album and all your work looks brilliant. Would I be right in assuming that each of those models has a wolf pelt on thier back and that its the same component on each? How do you find the repetitve look? Do you have any pictures from the rear of the unit so I can get an idea?

Also, do you have a seperate blog I can keep an eye on?

Thanks again guys.

Looking a Wulfebane's stuff is like looking into the sun, Brilliant!! ...except his models won't burn your retina out...

To echo the phrase that will continue on forever: your models, do what you want with them.

The Marauder look is very cool, makes your army look more vinking-ish. And if you've got some heresy era (FW, I assume) ML's, either use them or send them to me!! :)

You should treat us with some sweet pictures of your wip too!!

Their back view can be seen here and here. Its their only unifying trait other than the raised shoulderpads. Otherwise, I don't think I used a single piece more than once (maybe a bolter and arm twice). However, despite the pelts, I felt the way each GH was positioned and with which armaments and helmet, etc, that they all looked very unique from each other, which would be dissimilar from an Ultramarine tac squad IMO.

And no, I don't have a blog atm... but like what's been said already, definitely get a look at MaveriK's stuff. He's the reason I started using marauder bits in the first place!
