update-time!

those still in the early stages:

and the more advanced group:

does it perchance state "Forgiven" :P

And lo did the Emperor's sign, worn upon the crafted armour of a great lord of HIS own Executioners were the words of HIS Forgiveness rained down... the great heresy of the split in the once mighty First Legion, by his son's own kin was at once banished and struck from the few records that contained it's treachery...

Time for an update from me.

I still haven't done the claws on my first Wolf Guard. My idea of using a glaze to colour boltgun metal didn't really have the effect I was hoping for so back to the drawing board. Anyway my next Wolf Guard is going to be the one with the frost axe and I've got ideas on how I'm going to do that and then the claws and power weapons may just end using the same technique as the frost axe but a different colour.

So onto some pictures now...

Here's Gunnar Trollbane

He's done apart from his right shoulder pad. I'm going to apply the decals to them all at the same time and then weather the pads. And he needs a base, but I'm not sure how I want to do the bases yet. I want snowy bases (original I know :P ) but I don't really want just plain snow.

I managed to get the airbrush out today and got the remaining three base coated, so hopefully I'll be able to get through them fairly quickly and increase my vow

and Herungr Fire-Hearted, Brother of Haegar Bone-Fist and Skorrin the Oldgallery_59855_6882_1131563.jpg

thus are but a few of the many, many wolf guard in my vow!

Onwards brothers For RUSS and For GLORY!!! (and of course to uncover the many many small, dark wriggly secrets that the dress-wearers keep locked in their floating hobo cave).

@ Semper - Hehe try to read the runes on his left leg ;)

Hahahaha... umm.. :P?

@ Storm Dragon: Like your stuff very much! Especially that you went for a grey rather the bluish grey which is the norm! Keep up1

@ Russ Brother: The hair colors are top! They add individuallity and a distracting color to the composition! Yellow and red - the SW signature complementing colors too! Cant wait for Kurgan to be complete (with the YELLOW assault cannon!). I really like your approach Russ Brother! Keep it up!

did some progress on my vow, well more them some, nearly half my vow is almost completed (some minor details to pick out)

In addition I also painted up another of my cities of death buildings but i guess we don't get any points for those?

@hendrik, Looking good :P

I have some progress to report, Runolf Bloodfang and Leif Bloodaxe are as good as done. They still need the decals on their right pad, but otherwise they are good to go...

So that leaves me with one more Wolf Guard to paint and a few finishing touches until I can increase my vow ;) The only question is what am I going to vow next? I've got two packs of Grey Hunters which need painting and a Wolf Guard Battle Leader. The battle leader will be more effective points wise for the challenge than the grey hunters but I really want to use the challenge to get some progress made on my army. And then there the box of Thunder Wolf Cavalry I'm getting for Fathers Day.... decisions, decisions :P

Vow a GH pack with leader and after that make another vow for your TWC and pending time other GH pack, every single point helps so dont dismiss anything :P

Looks like I'm the only one still updating this thread with my progress rather than having my own thread in here... Oh well

Ulf Thunderfist is now done apart from the weathering on his left knee pad and the Great Company symbol and weathering on his right shoulder pad.

I've applied the decals for the Great Compant to all five Wolf Guard and I'm just waiting for the Micro Sol to dry which should mean they'll be ready to weather tomorrow...

So stay tuned, same bat time, same bat channel ;)
