@Wulfebane - forte has got it in one, the weathering is just charadon granite applied with a bit of sponge. The two with yellow and black knee pads have also had a bit of iyanden darksun sponged onto black as well

Thanks for all the kind words brothers.

I've finished off the Great Company markings on their shoulder pads and also weathered the pads. So these guys are done :( The only problem is that my router packed up today so the only access I have to the internet is through my phone so no pictures yet ;) Probably won't have proper access for at least a week, but I'll get the pictures up as soon as I can

OK so my Wolf Guard are complete and here are the pictures to prove it :tu:

And since I'm going to be making a second vow here is the initial pic for my second vow...

Edit because I just noticed that I took the pictures before I painted the rims of their bases black, be assured they are done now :tu:

How everyones vow coming along?

I've finished the armor and armor highlights yesterday. Just have to go through and o all the little details now (teeth, charms, fur bits, bolters, faces, masks, etc etc) and then I can base them. Also, I'll probably be ordering the weapon conversion set from Forge World tomorrow, so when that get's in I can toss on the combi melta, and finish the vow. Hopefully I can vow more.

So Kassill, any chance of declaring completion before the next weekly update on Tuesday? The BTs are now ahead of you guys again by 450 pts...

Depends on my new work schedule (written on saturdays :P )

Ok time to drag this thread back onto the front page :) I haven't got a copy of 6th Ed yet so I can't join in with any of those threads anyway :P

I'm not just posting for the sake of it, I've got just under 1/3 of the way through my second vow. These three are done apart from their bases and left shoulder pads. I'm going to do the bases and apply the decals to all nine pack memebers at the same time.

So onto the pictures, not particularly good but you get the idea...

I'm not sure who is my favourite in this pack, this guy or the pack leader (who's in the next batch to be painted). Anywho I reckon there's no mistaking that he's embraced his inner wolf a bit too much and he's the pack member with the mark of the wulfen. :)

The Wolves of Fenris are upon you!

They are FINISHED!

So how's everyone else doing?

They look really good. I think the dark grey looks really good, it gives them a dark and menacing feel. :)

The only thing I would say is drill out your bolters, that would make them look even better.

Thanks! That is definitely what I'm striving for after reading Prospero Burns.

Yeah, I'll have to see if I have any bits small enough to do the barrels.

they look good, the non Aquila helms are chaos marauder helms right?

Thanks!

Yes indeedy.

They're my take (and a few others) on Rout-masks/masks of aversion. Still need to go back one day (waiting for IQ's tutorial) and try my hand at some knotwork.

I have no idea what those are but they still look good

Lol, thanks. You've a thing or two to learn lad! ;)

Rout-masks/masks of aversion/leather knotwork masks were something featured in Dan Abnetts novel, Prospero Burns. The Wolves crafted leather masks to wear to ward off malificarum (evil spirits/demons/etc). These often featured knotworks and such, and some even had horns and such crafted into them.

My army is really one that I am trying to capture the image portrayed by Mr. Abnett in his fantastic look on the Rout. ;)
