Olis
Pretty good, although the legs look a little off to me. Not quite sure what, though. It might be the thighs, the knees, the legs as a whole... I dunno. It's not quite right. Great effort besides that. *Furyou Miko
Awesome. Although, I have to admit, when I saw "space marine suits" I had an image of Calgar rocking a dinner jacket. Jareddm
Not mine, but I figured I'd post a link to easily the most incredible Grey Knights outfit I've ever seen. http://colin-midwest.deviantart.com/art/Br...nator-286967959 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252787-space-marine-suits/#findComment-3067279 Share on other sites
Kol Saresk
If you google it, it pops up with this in-depth guide on how to make your own and the two guys who set that up are rocking Black Templar colors. Brother Sellsword
I noticed where most people who build space marine armour build it so that it fits their stature, these guys actually are using stilts and fake arms to give them the appearance of being quite large. I'd be interested in knowing if the hands are articulate or merely dummy appendages? StrayCatt
Dummy appendages ... I wasn't aware he had 'finished' this project. I have one of his beaky helms and bolters that he cast up a while back to create the funds to make the suits. -Adam Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/252787-space-marine-suits/#findComment-3067308 Share on other sites
Grimbad
I noticed where most people who build space marine armour build it so that it fits their stature, these guys actually are using stilts and fake arms to give them the appearance of being quite large. I'd be interested in knowing if the hands are articulate or merely dummy appendages? I saw these guys on Saturday. The hands do not function. The size of them was good, and for the most part the quality was excellent. The rubber parts were a bit loose and that made all the joints look a bit awkward, especially the neck. Looking at this post http://protagonist4hire.blogspot.com/2012/...build-part.html I'm surprised he didn't go with that arrangement for the helmet (having the wearer's head actually be in the neck) as in the setup that did get used the helmets had these big rubbery jowls hanging down from them where there was too much rubber. Or maybe I didn't get a good enough look, he actually did use that setup, and it just didn't work so well. The helmets did look a bit small. I liked seeing the RTB01 style beaky helm on the shelf. I'd love to see a full suit done up like that. Wouldn't require so much proportion-altering to look good. The knee joints were a bit funky too. I was curious to see if they'd look right in the classic Space Marine Battle Crouch, but I didn't get the chance to see. Edit: Err, looking at the other blog post, it looks like he did use that method for the neck. I guess the wearer didn't keep it tucked under the collar and that's why it looked so floppy?
