Techmarine weapon options

I am nearly done making my kitbashed Techmarine for my ETL vow. I have a servo harness and OSR so far, and a powersword in the left hand. I am unsure what to equip the right hand with. I feel like the stock bolter is the best choice. With a servo harness, you get to shoot either one harness weapon and a hand weapon, or both harness weapons. With a TL plas pistol and flamer, are any of the other options even worth looking at? A bolt shot at 24" is ok, but instead of rapid firing the bolter, I think the pistol/flamer combo is better.

At least give the poor guy a Storm Bolter, every other Grey Knight in the entire frakking Chapter comes with one except the Techmarine (the guy that is supposed to have better equipment, not worse). I know Ward made the basic unit entry equipment match the actual models, but it is one of the big disappointments of his design that Techmarines don't come standard with a Storm Bolter and a Nemesis Force Sword, like everybody else. A Power Weapon? Really?

I think the Space Marine Captain box has a right handed storm bolter...

I was just planning on giving my tech-marine (when I get around to one) plastic Grey Knight arms, right and left, so his shoulders and weaponry matched. Nemesis Force Halberd and Storm Bolter, plus servo-harness. Yeah, it might be a little excessive points wise, but it'll look cool ;)

It is dumb he doesn't come with the storm bolter default. You get the feeling, reading some of our Codex, that Matt ran out of steam towards the end and just starting copy-pasting from the Marine codex. Then the proof-reading team just tweaked the entries slightly, and then printers.

I don't really bother with the ranged options, stave and 'why cant I hold all these grenades' is pretty much your best bet. Oh, or conversion beamer if you want a laugh. OSR is bad forever though

I think in this particular case it was clearly an instance of fitting the rules/options to fit the existing model, rather than making the GK Techmarine army list entry "as it should be" and then going from there. He was probably informed that they'd create a new model line for all of his other planned units, but that they weren't going to waste effort on a GK-specific Techmarine model, so he just tailored to that and moved on.

The Librarian didn't get the same treatment though.

It’s quite easy to make a storm bolter out of two regular bolters…

I recently grabbed a finecast Techmarine box before the price rise, and I plan to just use plastic arms and shoulder pads from the PAGK box to make it fit in with the Grey Knights.

That's my plan too... the effect worked well with my old-school pewter Terminator Librarian, so it aught to transfer just fine for the Techmarine.

That's two Elite slots and a fair amount of points for a lot of meh. OSR misses every time (srsly, I can count on one hand the number of times it has scattered ONTO something), conversion beamer is hilarious but cover tends to dilute its damage output. I'd rather take a Vindicare and pop tanks, or a Purifier/Paladin squad.
