Deschenus Maximus
Fluffwise, I could very well see the Mechanicum telling the Chapter to go stuff themselves over the Baal issue. Still, doesn't make sense for BT and SW not to have it. Barduck
from a commercial point of view this isn'nt the smartest move from GW either. Here you have a new toy for the space marines guys, buy it. Oh and all you BA, GK, DA, SW, .... players, sorry, you guys can't field them!!!! we: Aren't we space marines then, developers? developers: nope, not from our pov Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253501-storm-talon-brothers/page/3/#findComment-3079318 Share on other sites

But GW's attitude seems to be, "You play BA and you want a Talon, start another army then". Sir Blayse
As a BA and SM player, I don't really have an issue with BA not getting the Talon. I prefer to have Vanguard Vets or Baal Preds in my lists. As a SM, it seems to point to us finally getting some faster, more effective units. I'm still holding on to the hope that SM will be able to give their scouts the Storm speeder as a dedicated transport, thus opening up the fast slot to run the Talon as an escort unit. In this case you can actually outflank the opponent with both units. At the moment SM's are really limited in what tactics they can run. BA's advantages in being able to Drop pod, JP, or Mech up in so many different ways is huge. Right now SM can really only mech up or drop pod in as a strategy. The Talon gives us some different options. The last few codecies have really hinted at the changes we will be seeing in 6th edition, I'd hold your worries until we see what happens. SevenExxes
If 6th edition gives fast skimmers both the Supersonic and Ariel Assault rules then we shouldn't worry too much because this would make both the Stormraven and Landspeeders alot better. I would guess the Raven could get that, I would be surprised if Land Speeders do though. If Speeders do, that would push them above Attack bikes in my opinion. Jarakin
Re-opening this topic guys... Reading the appendix of the 6th ed, Stormtalon sits right underneath the Stormraven under the "Space Marine Vehicles" entry. So it would appear that according to the BRB, Space Marines are able to take the Stormraven now and vice versa, Blood Angels can take Stormtalon!? Discuss. Robbie1984
The storm raven is in the generic SM list in the BRB due to the fact more than one chapter can take it (BA and GK) just like vindi's preds etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253501-storm-talon-brothers/page/3/#findComment-3104971 Share on other sites
Cain Tiberius Kondrad
I've not had chance to read 6th yet. But my understand is that you could take the Talon under the allies rules anyway. I fully intend picking Talons and a couple other units and painting them as BA, just simply using the Allies rules. Matt Ward chucked a tanty and wanted it for his smurfs - that or marketing realised they weren't selling enough of them, so now Storm Ravens for everyone Re-opening this topic guys... Guess not huh - the revealed their hand a little early. SRs are one of the main reasons I chose BA in the first place. Now everyone has them How about a bit of quid pro quo - let us have Storm Eagles, Storm Talons, or even Thunderfire. A bit of balance please. GW and Forge World really do hate BA...
