chezzie
Hi all, I'm after opinions on an idea. I was thinking I'd like to do a mk IV armoured wolf priest and I was looking last night at the apothecary on the forgeworld site. Obviously some bits would need to go, but what do people think, is it a doable conversion or not? Cheers David Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253658-opinions-on-converting-a-wolf-priest/ Share on other sites
Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
Absolutely!! That model is great (they both are). Hang a few tails and give him a wolfy looking weapon and you're in business!! chezzie
The one thing that concerns me is that there's a bit in the fluff about WP not carrying the full Narthecium but more potions and so forth ( I think, codex is at home ). I'm not quite sure what to take off and what to keep from the apothecary bits. Any thoughts on that? Russ Brother 92
personally, because I love the models I'd keep the full narthecium set-up, but it would be upto you - I'd feel that they look a lot cooler with it than without, then again if you could do it with his crozius in the oppositte hand and a pistol/or other in his narthecium hand it could look incredible :tu: I say good luck young sir! Rybnick
It's hard to imagine changing those lovely models much, especially when you consider their cost. Personally I love the look of the narthecarium and would really try and squeeze one in just for the BAMF factor involved. RussBrother makes an interesting point about the crozarius though. Maybe snag a Sanguinary Guard arm for the angeulus bolter (aka posh bolt pistol) file down the BA iconography and bam bolt pistol and crozarius on one arm and narthecarium on the other. I'd call that a win-win! Alternately you could use a storm bolter arm from the GK sprues but if you play wysiwyg it might not be as good an option. Russ Brother 92
agreed with rybnick about the angelus bolters - as I believe (don't have codex to hand) that regular (non-TDA) WPs can have a storm bolter, thus if you either go for the GK wrist-mounted storm bolter or the BA angelus bolters then you can do as rybnick suggested and create a rather epic and unique character  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253658-opinions-on-converting-a-wolf-priest/#findComment-3078640 Share on other sites
Pall Ironbear
The one thing that concerns me is that there's a bit in the fluff about WP not carrying the full Narthecium but more potions and so forth ( I think, codex is at home ). I'm not quite sure what to take off and what to keep from the apothecary bits. Any thoughts on that? "Perhaps the defining tool Of the Wolf Priest's trade is the Fang Of Morkai, a complex and many bladed device that allows extraction of adying Space Wolf's progenoid glands......"C:SW p35 Sounds like a Narthecium to me, just with added wolfy fluff. :tu: For my PA Wolf Priest I cut out the hand from an Apothecary's arm and fitted in one with a BP. The GK Apothecary arm takes a Crozius quite nicely, just need to drill a hole in the centre of the fist. Then the Warding Stave from the same kit provides a nice looking haft, just need to make a wolf style head for the crozius. Looking at the FW model, it wouldnt take much work to make an exceptional Wolf Priest Sorry about the pics, poor lighting plus iPhone = Photography fail http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/c6056421.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb124/shilly39/40k%20Wolves/153427fd.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253658-opinions-on-converting-a-wolf-priest/#findComment-3078963 Share on other sites
chezzie
Thanks for the help brothers! As soon as I get the model and get started I'll do a WIP thread on it :) David Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/253658-opinions-on-converting-a-wolf-priest/#findComment-3079084 Share on other sites
