Combi-Weapons from the new FW Terminator Weapon Pack

So as soon as the Terminator Weapon Set was released I ran out and ordered one. I was building 2 more power-armored sergeants for my army, and I wanted to get around the usual "magnetize the whole arm for weapon options" route. My plan was to have the sergeants equipped with a permanently attached powerfist and a combi-weapon (since I already have four sergeants with a full complement of magnetized weapons).

 

The combi-weapons from the pack are rather delicate, the secondary weapon part being smaller than their plastic counterparts (i.e. the plastic combi-melta has a big honkin' melta muzzle; the FW melta muzzle is quite a bit smaller). When put together, the weapon is almost exactly the size of a plastic PA or TDA storm-bolter. It fits on PA models perfectly.

 

The area where the combi-piece attaches to the main weapon is a (relatively) large flat area, which provides enough real estate to sink a single small disk magnet (the same size you'd use to magnetize a shoulder joint on a PA model). The combi-pieces, likewise, have enough room to attach a matching magnet, and they are thick enough to dremel into them just a little so that the magnet doesn't just sit on the surface. Of course you have to be very gentle about your dremeling.

 

The end result is a very handsome swappable combi-weapon. If you are putting it on the right arm of a mini, the existing hand is sufficiently small to fit on the PA (and it could always be obscured with a purity seal).

 

I will post pictures when I repair my home desktop (power supply died, and hopefully did NOT take anything along with it).

It would be good to see some pics as to what you have done. I was thinking about buying a set of the termie weapons myself for a CCW unit and the extra combi-weapons will come in handy for other projects.
