Unforgiven2544 Posted June 6, 2012 Share Posted June 6, 2012 Good Evening fellow Gamers, I am still undecided on the usage of a storm talon or storm raven. But which of the unforgiven chapters would most likely have need of them? Ravenwing Storm Talons? Disciples of Caliban Storm Ravens? Something Else entirely? Also, has anyone gotten a storm talon? There might be of personal need of you as player so you must decide if you are in need of a flying land raider of sorts or a stronger land Speeder. I am thinking I might use the Talon with my Angels of Absolution or Disciples of Caliban. My Disciples of Caliban are very bike-heavy (Think Khan list) so a Storm Talon coming in from reserve with an outflanking biker squadron seems like it would be an awesome sort of thing. Unforgiven2544 Posted June 6, 2012 Author Share Posted June 6, 2012 I use a Khan when I don't want a Land Raid-Speeder or a Bike Captain that can join a squad. Also, when you are playing in multiple force org chart games... Having a Ravenwing Force, Lead by Sammael, and a Disciples of Caliban force Lead by Ectheliel All of which can out flank and still look amazing in the process. :D I have Sammael on Bike, Sammael on Speeder... and unfortunately I don't have an option for taking him on a 'regular' bike. BigGumbo Posted June 6, 2012 Share Posted June 6, 2012 I've already seen a GW store conversion/construction of the Storm Talon which has the missile pods on top of the engines, rather than as "jowls". I wonder then about magnetizing the doors to be able to include predator sponsons (or the Hurricane bolter sponsons from the Storm Raven) Not necessarily for legal in-game use, but to add to the coolness factor... and to enhance the factor of it being able to secure the landing zone. But it's all good if your opponent says OK, right? :D Emerald Angels will benefit a bit from the Stormtalon. I think it's better then a Land Speeder, though if you already have a couple Land Speeders, I wouldn't go out and buy a Stormtalon. I made a pretty big post over in the Index Astartes. The Stormtalon isn't going to replace anything you probably already have in your army. It does offer some more options to your army. Storm Raven/Storm Eagle- it's pretty much a no brainer in my book. Why wouldn't you take one? The only reason you don't see more of them in Blood Angels or GK lists is due to the strengths of other parts of those books that overshadow how awesome the Storm Nouns are. If I played Emerald Angels, I would kill to have a Storm Raven transporting my Assault Termy's with my IC and an Ironclad Dread. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
