Ok everyone. here is my vow for the challange for the dark angels. Im a raven guard player and I have vowed the following to start with:

 

Vow #1

 

5 terminators (2 Chain fists, Assault Cannon)

5 terminators (2 chain fists, Cyclone missle launcher)

5 FW terminatrs (4 chain fists, heavy flamer)

1 jump back chaplain (bolt pistol)

5 space marine bikes (SGT with power weapon, Plasma Gun, Melta)

1 chaplain on space marine bike

1 terminator armour chaplain (Storm Bolter)

2 land speeder storms (Heavy bolter)

3 rhinos (2 MK 1 with twin-linked bolters, 1 MK 2 with pindle mounted storm bolter)

1 Vindicator (with pindle mounted storm bolter)

10 man scout squad (SGT with Shotgun and plasma pistol, Heavy bolter, 8 shotguns)

10 man scout squad (SGT with Bolt pistol and CCW, Heavy bolter and 8 bolters)

5 man sniper scout squad (4 sniper rifles and camo cloaks, 1 heavy bolter)

3 scout bikes (all with cluster mines and 1 grenade launcher)

1 captain with jump pack (twin lightning claws)

1-5 man sternguard squad (bolters only)

once again, sorry for the crappy pictures. better ones will follow when i am allowed to use the camera again.

 

 

so when doing this i have broke it down into 3 parts.

part 1: termies, captain, vets and chaplain.

part 2: scouts, bikes, TDA Chaplain

Part 3: land speeders, rhinos, vindi.

 

 

Part 1 has been completed. so done is 15 termies, 5 sernguard vets, 1 JP chaplain and 1 Captain. pictures will be taken and posted tomorrow.

 

part 2 had begun. so far i have been able to start on the bikes, cleaned up the TDA Chaplain and painted the flesh on the scouts. the big problem i have come across is that the regular bikes, chaplain bike and TDA chaplain I got 2nd hand so there was a lot of cleanup and fixing things. the bikes looked like a retarted 3 year old had built them. I had to make bike bolters for the chaplain bike and clean up lots of flashing on the TDA chaplain. the scouts and scout bikes I built so they are not as bad. I started clean up on one of the rhinos. I got all 3 used and they are in pretty bad shape. 2 are the old school models and the 3rd is a badly neglected newer edition rhino. I will have to strip about 5 layers of paint off and find spare headlight bits for it. the rear hatch is glued shut, as is the top hatch. the other to I had to make engine exaust for it using IG bits.

 

I have tomorrow off work so i will be able to get a lot of painting done. but then I work Wednesday and thursday then saturday-Tuesday so that will take some time from me.

Thanks Yak. Im doing the best I can. I already am lining up the expansion to the vow for when i get though this. im hoping to get this done by the end of the month then add another 1000-1500 pts for july and another 500 or so for august. good luck on your raptors. being of raven guard stock (or from what I have read) you should be able to add some hurt yourself.

Well Im gonna chip in with a fairly modest 490 points at first. Ive got a few assignments to finish through June but should be free to get crackin come July. Im starting off small but hope to contribute a little more in the later stages.

 

Yep The Raptors are a second founding chapter created from the Raven Guard.

Damn, that's a lot of stuff to do in two months - good luck with it. I love the pose on the last Scout Sergeant, it's like he's deciding exactly which gun to use to dish out the love.

I like the way you have used the transparent Chapter symbol on the scouts cammo cloaks, it gives the impression of a woven insignia.

Thanks bud. I'm actually working on the vehicles right now. The rhinos are all second hand and still rough shape, so battle damage it is. The vindi and speeders I built so the are much better. Hopefully they will be done today.

So part 3 is now finished. I'm not overly happy with the rhinos because of the poor condition they were in, but they will have to do. Had to make bolters for the mk1's and the holes and scrapes someone put on them for battle bandage was pretty bad. The mk2 was also missing a turret and headlights. I was able to but out a turret gunner, but that's about it. I won't be able to get pictures up until tomorrow for the vehicles though. But otherwise my initial vow is complete. My next day off from work is monday and Tuesday so I'll dig through what I have left and see what else I can add.

looking good ,might i suggest a wash on your metal to make it pop

also mad vow :) i couldnt even scratch the surface of that .i vowed a defiler and unit of 5 termies and am panicking ;)

It's worth checking with Captain Semper, but i'm pretty sure the period for entering new vows ended on the 15th June. Even so, you've still done the Ravenguard proud with the amount you've got finished, good job!

Semper said before that we can add to it after the 15th if your other vow(s) have/had been completed. Since it's after the 15th and I've completed this, I should be good to add on. If not, I did my part for the glory of the raven guard.

my raven guard is over 14,000 by now and I have every single unit in the SM codex, as well as a few from the (cough) BA codex (cough). and of course FW goodies as well.

Good luck with your new vow too. Terminators are the business for this challenge. I intend to have loads of scouts in my army but as I am a rather slow painter I opted for Terminators first due to the high points return.
