Heresy Era Death Guard WIP

Recommended Posts

I have been painting for awhile now and finally pretty much finished my test mini. There are still few things to change and add like rust, blood effects and battle damage but you can get the general feel at this stage hopefully. Suggestion on pustules are needed, and ofcourse advices are more than welcome!

He looks great, I particularly love the rust tone you've achieved.

Personally, I think the white looks a bit too clean. I mean, he's rotted to that stage and still got that nice, pre-Heresy DG white ... I'd suggest to dirt it down, but then that's a matter of taste. I'm looking forward to see more.

Cheers, JT

I tried using sponge to apply chipped paint, got carried away on test mini but got it right on sarge. Also added some dirty/rust water dripping here and there that in my opinion breaks that clean white look nicely.

When I painted these guys I heated up a thin needle with a ciggie lighter till it was hot enough to melt plastic & pushed it into the legs / arms. It creates a nice 'ruptured pustule' kinda thing, makes the plastics match better with the forge world parts.

My gf is awesome! Or shes just heard enough of me rambling on and on how I want to make Mortarion and shes trying to shut me up :) Well anyway she gave me Angel of Death by Scribor. Its awesome and perfect Primarch size, but there are lots of things to do until it is ready for some paint. Heres little size comparison pic.

Yea, things have been slow. Dont have any progress on painting, tried new thinner yesterday and it didnt go too well  I now have Flow Aid and Matte Medium by Liquitex so if someone could give me some advice on how to use them that would be cool :D

Got Dreadnought from ebay cheap, very cheap  Cheaper than regular GW dread. I was 80% sure it would be some recast or something but it is perfect so im very happy now! It didnt have some parts, like claws for fist but I actually like how I managed to do them. It looks much more powerfull like this, I can imagine him ripping loyalist rhino into pieces :D

I still have a Mk1 rhino coming and 5 Plague marines. Hope I get some painting done soon too :P
