It Cometh Apparantly

Hmm 6th ed in about 2 weeks, wouldn't surprise me a bit. Won't get the big book, this time, I will wait for box set and get mini book and hopefully the models in it will be something I need.

That's what i did for 5th but i do miss having a hardback tome with all the colour and fluff. With my birthday on Tuesday i shall ensure i have the resources to procure a copy of the B6B to snuggle up with in bed at night.

You don't want the big book? I mean come on it works great as an impromptu airstrike, and helps reinforce your arguments about rules by doubling as a close combat weapon.

But you don't get the +1 A ^_^

Though, on refletion, one is all you really need right?

Yea because it counts as a 2 handed relic blade so you have +2 strength :D

One for the bookshelf and one for the case for away games/tournaments ;)

See, I'm a book whore (of any kind) and even to me that seems a bit excessive

I'd want the big book anyway and will be buying the starter set (if it contains DA as seems to be the consensus) so will get the little book anyway. Two copies of the big book would be excessive...

I went for a big book and little book for the 5th so I will more than likely go the same way for the 6th.

Big book for the extra piccies etc

Little book for in game use

Evening brothers,

Il probably do the same.

The trailer doesnt really give much away but im still very excited.

Then it's done its job to perfection!

I always get the big book. The page numbers are different, compared to the little one, IIRC...and the big one is the standard for quoting the location of a rule online, no? Anyway, I just prefer the big one. This time, if the boxed set has DA in it, I guess I'll end up with the little book, as well. Not saying I'll lug the big one to games with me when I have a choice, but I've been lugging the big one for 15 years, so the lure of the little book is not going to sell me the box, it has to be the models. I'm really interested in the rumor that there will be TWO boxed sets, one each with two different armies, eliminating the problem of having to unload the unwanted models from one of the armies.

Will be buying the box for sure this time around - getting back into the hobby after breaking away just before 3rd was launched.

I'll be needing all the templates, the mini book and also the miniatures will be good (assuming something that can be used for DA's) and my kids want to start gaming to (7 & 8 years old) so they can have the other half of the box set to get them started.

All in all can't wait to see whats in the box :P

I have adopted a wait and see approach at this point. My local FLGS just became somewhat GW hostile territory, all but three players jumped ship to other systems (seven or eight people) and have tossed their armies up on eBay. The owner-operators had a sale to get all the GW product out of their store and are not bringing anything new in, it's going to be "order only" for GW stuff there now, plus no more tournaments or leagues in store (pick up games allowed, but sounds like there will only be four folks with armies now). Personally, I won't be rushing out to buy any of the rules right away, like I have for 3rd -5th editions. Guess I'll stroll on over to the GW nearest me and see how this edition looks. Then I may still wait, to see what the starter box has. Then I may just pick up the last few bits for my battle company, paint 'em up and display my ill-spent youthful working money.

As far as the two boxes, I could see that, but it takes away from the "game-in-a-box" selling point to first-timers. However, if you are already in a GW store where you know other GW players will be, then the benefit of having an opposing force to play against anyone that wants to definitely does go down some.

I had a sick day off yesterday, I got tired of waiting for GW and spent the $450 I had put aside for the 6th BrB and new DA stuff. Some new running shoes and a couple of new tops will serve me well through winter. Gotta love GWs' marketing strategy. FAIL.

I'm gonna have to save up for 6th when it finally arrives, the likely high price of the brick makes me cringe. I've got all the fluff I can handle with other editions bricks and BL novels- I just want rules so maybe e-bay for a small book will do for me.

Ho hum, sorry for being a negative vibe merchant.

stobz

They will sell the Book first, and 1-2 weeks later the box...always was and will be their release rules...a friend who worked for them for some years(pure slavery if you ask me), thats jsut their policy to sell books, or else all would buy boxes and no books...ppl always forget, they dont want to enlighten our lives with fun stuff, they want our money and thats about all!

Only way for me to buy a box would be if it contains chaos/DA, id share with my friend, if not he will buy the big book...so i dont need to buy anything theoretically!

Just need some colours, maybe a crapcast ezekiel someday, rest i want is the expensive FW stuff :)

Yeah, I really don't mean to be a negative vibe either, but sadly, prior to all of this along with talking to my FLGS owner, I still had a potential legitimate dream/goal of putting together a business plan and starting up a FLGS that was better than the one that I used to help manage and operate 10 years ago. That looks like its on hiatus for a long time at this point.
